The place to go for a lazy afternoon, pub quiz or last call
You can tell us more about Crewe.
Pubs
- I can't believe that more people on here haven't mentioned THE BOROUGH ARMS. If you enjoy a good beer (that's ALE as opposed to lager), then the Borough Arms is the place to go. It's very close to the centre of Crewe. There's no loud music or jukebox, no food (except crisps!), no Sky TV blasting out (although a telly's normally on in the corner for people who want to watch it - the volume's always turned off though) and importantly a great crowd, never any trouble and GREAT BEER.
Because it's a freehouse, the beers are always being changed. Don't get too used to a particular beer because it likely won't be on next time you go in. That's all part of its attraction and charm. It's a great, friendly little place.
- the union vaults in natwich great place to go great beer and nick the dj does it right try it
- Brunswick, nantwich road - its not all student city down there
- THE DUKE OF GLOUCESTER,NICKNAMED(THE DOG)IS A NEW PUB(2005)ON THE OUTSKIRTS OF CREWE AT CREWE GREEN,15 MIN WALK IF YOU TURN RIGHT OUT OF THE RAILWAY STATION AND KEEP GOING STRAIGHT ON TO YOU REACH THE THIRD ROUND AND THEN TURN RIGHT, THE PUB IS STRAIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU.
THERE IS A BAR,LOUNGE AND RESTARANT.SERVINGS OF GOOD REAL ALES AND SERVING NICE MEALS.
- The Earl of crewe is now becoming quite a good pub to drink in , it is safe and friendly mainly due to paul (the lovely gay manager)
- The Barrel the best pub in Crewe, you`re having a laugh when was the last time you visited Crewe? It`s that good it`s been up sale for months! I would have to say that for a good night try Clancys (Royal Hotel) open late at weekends even sundays. Also try Square1 in Mill St with its cool deco and great DJs on a friday & saturday nights. Finally the small matter of The Brunswick (Brunny) what a great pub, great beer, great music, great sport, great owners and saff, great on match days (Alex) and never any trouble! See you sat dinner...
- Zillians of em! i've been behind the bar in about 8! Kings Arms on Earl Street serves Black Bear mild! What a pint! In town you have Wetherspoons, The Vic, The Burton, Angel, 3 Lamps, Limelights, Junction, Borough Arms all within staggering distance of each other, the west end has many, nantwich road has loads. Infact, if you did a pub crawl in crewe id say youd be lucky to make it more than a mile in any given direction with a pint in each. And Nantwich.. just ridiculous!!
- we now have a wetherspoons next to the bus station. always full of winos.
clancys: go down the steps off the dancefloor at half twelve and take your pick of mingers who no one else wants.
the vic: what happend to this place? used to be bangin. now an old man in shirt, tie, jacket etc serves drinks.
the barrel: tacky shadows bar, crap music played really loud. washing machines and dryers for people who cant afford one.
the bank: always realy dark so its easy to take drugs, and apparently the owner doesnt mind u gurning in the corner. if u kick off the bouncers just take u outside, instead of filling u in first.
the earl: overpriced drinks. this is where the better looking girls go, before they fuck off to nantwich for the night.
the brunswick: full of old people and mutants. quid for a game of pool, shocking.
last orders inn, tiny shithole with butch barmaids.
the cross keys: two pounds eighty for a bottle of bud. a quid in wetherspoons! go in the pool room at any point over the weekend and spot the pillheads.
the angel: right in the town centre and underground. nice food. eighties throwback. recently done up but still looks old and crap.
three lamps: nice food and good for people watching on saturdays.
- Square One is Crewe's best bar by far!!!
- Square One - Mill Streer
- The barrel has undergone a refit and also stays open till 1am on fri & sat but you have to pay a small fee.
The earl of crewe, has done a massive revamp, and when I was there at christmas time it was packed almost everynight of the week. Popular with students due to its student look now.
We have new pubs !!!
I have heard but not seen since I don't go back to crewe for a while yet that we have had some new pubs including a weatherspoons, about time methinks
- YEH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Beer Engine (Brunswick) on Nantwich Road...hello bonkers Matt if you still drink there.
- The Albion on Mill Street, left off the train station and right at the first set of lights, first pub on left!!
- Dont go to Champions next to the cinema if you are under 18 you are guarenteed not to be served! Goto The Grand Junction by the theatre you can there! Or The Barell, The Brunswich, or The Bank on nantwich road u can get in there at 5 as long as you spend money!
- Great pub on Wistaston Road called the Park. Very gay friendly and welcomes straights without attitude. Real gem in an otherwise poor nightlife town.
- THE BELLE VUE EARLE STREET best pub in crewe student night on wednesday karaoke on friday and sunday presented by dj dave grayson who also stars at crewes premier nightspot the camelot suite live acts on saturdays meals served daily five a side football pitch at the rear amd some of the best looking bar maids ive seen in ages. boddies only £1.39 a pint
- The barrell, the bank, manny's the whole of Nantwich rd is good esp on a thursday nite
- The Limelight doubles up as a great pub and now opens daily at 12pm (members only - hang around outside and somebody will usually sign you in).
Otherwise, it's your usual par-for-the-course bad wine bars and naffly decored pubs. The Earl of Crewe on Nantwich
Road is worth a mention as it seems to be developing into quite a studenty place. Clancy's (an 'Irish bar - ie serves Guinness) further down the road
gets packed at the weekend.
- Don't bother going in the Royal, or the Brunswick - they are both terrible!
- Take a gun
