Pubs
- Punch bowl, Ball Inn, Noahs Arc, Masons arms, Old gridestone, Cobden View,Princess Royal Heavygate Inn, Hallamshire Hotel.
- Ball's legendary quiz nights...great atmosphere, studenty but good mix.
Grindstone's good: monday night Jazz.
- Any of the pubs in Crookes is worth a look. The Cobden View is nicely out of the way, The Ball is good and lively and a good spot to meet. The Punch Bowl was better as was - it's now a Mr Q's, which has also taken over the Hadfield (the sacrilege). Used to be a favourite crusty hang out, where are they now? The Hallamshires (both the House and the Hotel) are good. The Heavygate! The decor wasn't up to much but they just kept serving ridiculously cheap alcohol 'til ridiculously early hours. And the walk home had the twinkling lights of Sheffield right out to Meadowhall spread out below you. Fantastic.
