Ok, I'm trying to find out about Lydgate Lane Children's Home. Someone told me that it's just closed and moved somewhere else where some other homes are going to be built. Except I can't find any trace of Lydgate Lane Children's Home at all! Anywhere!

You may have heard of xmas street in thurnscoe, at xmas we had a terrible fire on our street and sadly lost two children. We have now heard of quite a few fires in local areas and we have found that there is no help fire victims. Anyone around who used to hang around the Bole Hills, Contak Coffee Bar at Crookes terminus, Lep at Broomhill, Crookes Congs Youth Club, Wesley Hall Youth Club etc, etc in the 1960's. Or who went to Lydgate Junior (1950's)or Tapton School (1960's).
