• Finding out about the old bridge support that is still there at the Heathway near the cab office. The smell of a thousand barbeques as you get off the tube at the Heathway coming home from work in the summer, even on overcast days.(I know I'm home) People knocking on your door to tell you that you've left your car lights on. People love dogs.
• fairly decent public transport -- a variety of Underground stations and British rail too at Dagenham Dock and nearby Chadwell Heath. Lots of London buses (not always reliable). Being part of London. The Adult College. Low housing costs. Near Romford.

• Its local Its Cheep compared with the rest of London Lots of council houses to get on the housing ladder

• The people, where else will strangers chat to you in the Docters surgery. The Parks, you would be hard pressed to find so many green parks in any other London Borough.
