- Dagenham was nick-named Corn-beef city,after the 2nd World War.Due to the pre-fabricated houses it had put up.They looked likr tins of corned beef.

- I love Dagenham. I originally came from the east end of London, Like a lot of people here. Dagenham allows people to buy a house with a garden that they could never afford in another 'Trendier' area. It is full of a good mix of people and most of them are thoughtful, kind and nice to know. I've been here a quite a few years and LOVE it.
- Dagenham is part of Greater London, not part of Essex.
- We moved here three years ago with very few regrets. Neither of us earn a kings ransom and it was the last place we could really afford in London and I doubt we're alone. Daggers also has a rep for being a hard plance full of bad men and loose women, but I've found it to be a safe, mainly friendly place. And I've lived in most corners of London so do have a perspective on such things! The worst thing I can say about Dagenham is that its fairly nondescript. It does have a rough underbelly, and it does have its unfair share of poverty and single parenthood but I've been to many places that feel more dangerous, threatening and deprived where the people have been stupider.

- I have been told that the old grandstand that stood in Valance Park has fallen it was an icon ,I cant ever rember any kids jumping the fence to get in .mind you old Buster was always on the prowl ,The germans tryed during the war to hit it but the nearest they got was with fire bombs inthe park and ValanceWood Rd and the school My mate Norm lovitts house got hit and blackies house next door was hit i watched the firemen knock the tiles off norms house but on the otherside of the road a family all were killed their garden backed onto the park ,it seems Dagenham is at war again
- I know ppl think dagenham is dodgy, but ive had more aggro in ilford and romford than here
- dagenham is shit for everything including the pussy
