The Worst Things in Dagenham, Essex*
The entirely missable and worth mentioning because of it
You can tell us more about Dagenham.
The Worst Things
- It was a nice place to grow up in (born 1972) but a sorry sight these days. Rubbish and grafitti everywhere.....almost all of the houses used to be well maintained and now they just all look run into the ground. SHAME!
- The Lego Towers
- Living there. Dagenham is a shithole and i hate living there. Only moved there as i had no choice. Wanna get out asap.
- old bill are well moody
- Car alarms, No decent Indian resaurants, The lack of places to go when you are over 40. The lights at the top of the hill at the Heathway, when I'm walking they never change in my favour, when I'm in the car they are always RED.
A general 'You'll put up with it and be grateful' attitude from managers of shops. Do they think we're all thick? Yes they do.
- Being part of London, now that Ken Livingstone is Mayor of London. Graffiti, litter, louts, smoking kids, stupid kids, poor education, poverty, drugs, some idiot with a sword who chops off people's hands or whatever at night in dark alleys, tiny houses which were badly designed (on the Becontree estate), sloppy talking, no hospital.

- No central supermarket! Can you believe that the only supermarket in Central Dagenham closed nearly three years ago to be replaced by a Wilkinsons. Much as I love Wilkinsons, I do think the weekly food shop comes first and for that there's either Asda, a pain the butt to get to without a car, or Romford/Barking. For goodness sake, this place has a population of 90,000 people!
Also, no-one has mentioned this yet, but whennever I come home on the District Line at night, the SMELL hits you quite badly. Sometimes its sewage, sometimes its a cabbagey, cloying planty smell, but its always there after about 10pm. I kid you not.
- Druggies
Wide boys
- to many to name
- Car dumping, why is it that the world and his wife dumps there old cars on our doorstep.
- the fact that the cttages are now gone
- A return ticket from Romford
