Does anyone have any information, memories or knowledge of The English Timber Company that was in Danbury in the 1950s? My late father worked there during that time, and sometimes I went with him when I was a child and have some happy memories. It would be nice to locate any of his old work mates if any are still alive. My father was originally from Birkenhead so had a Liverpool accent, he had bright Ginger hair. I would just like to let everyone know that BT have decided that in order for them to bother to upgrade the Danbury exchange so that it can handle its Broadband Internet service (very fast connection basically), they want at least 200 people to have registered their interest in the service. To do this, all you have to do is go to bt.co.uk and click on the links to broadband. There are links to how you can register your interest. This is a big step in the world of the internet - I urge you to register your interest, if not for yourself then to help all the others who want it but can't get it due to this restriction. As of 29/8/02, 61 people have registered their interest. Please follow this example - I'm SO fed up with connecting through a 56k modem! Thankyou.
