• The strand in the high street is an excellent pub, also the port arms on the sea front. the zetland arms in kingsdown throws a brillient pub quiz.
• Kings Head or The Port Arms in the Summer when the sun is shining.
• Hare & Hounds, Northbourne. No smoking throughout. Good food at average prices. Good range of drinks. Welcomes families.Children's menu. This is fine, but does mean that you may have to share your romantic or special occasion with youngsters who would be more at home in McDonalds.
• Try the Bohemian on the seafront for a chilled out atmosphere.
• Deal Hoy best 'quiet' pub in Town: out of the way (Duke St, close to Union St Car Park & Saturday market), but comfortable, excellent background music, welcoming landlords (Jeff and Chris). Best 'character' pub probably Admiral Penn, on Beach St opposite Royal Hotel. Closed lunchtimes and Sundays, as landlord and -lady (Art and the lovely Linda) want to live long and stay sane!
• some pubs serve under agers, condone drug dealing and pissheads.
• not my scene full of people drinkin to hide away from their sad lives
• The Deal Hoy has the most eclectic patrons of any pub I've ever been in. Relaxed atmosphere and excellent conditioned ale.

• The Strand does a good karaoke nite on a Tuesday. I know cos i take part.
• The Bowling Green Tavern (Bowling Green Lane, near the hospital) has got a great little garden for the kids....Bouncy castle swings'n things, and you can get a big plate of nachos for three quid.....lovely barmaids here too!!!!
• Admiral Penn - good beer The Ship and the good old King's Head
• Time was when only the Kings Head would do... I like the Eagle (near the train station) and the Foresters.

• James Clay sexiest barman at the walmer castle and a lovely geezer at that. Deal Hoy, quiet pub used to have the most gorgeous landlady but sadly she 's now a nurse, much to many a patient's delight.
• Kings Head The sexiest chambermaid ever is employed there. (my wife)

• Zetland Arms on the beach nearby in Kingsdown for peace and quiet. In the summer it's full of old colonels and wetsuits, as everyone goes windsurfing and jet skiing there. King's Head in Deal on the seafront is good place anytime.
• The Kings Head. They have one hell of a gorgeous barman! The Nelson. Sometimes the companies a bit crap, but the music can be brill.
