Queens Hotel 1971 by Ray Brown (Member 10254082) on 8-Nov-2010
Just wondering if anyone remembers working at the Queens in and around 1971. I am looking to see if anyone remembers my father David Edward Brown who was a waiter at the Queens around that time - any info greatly appreciated.

Sheffield connections by Robert Lomax (Member 10189251) on 15-Jul-2006
Trying to find any Roper or Hopkinson family that originated in Sheffield. Have a family photo taken at Deal around 1946 and would like to identify some people on it. The family from Sheffield were visiting relatives in Deal and they have to have came from Sheffield.

Hawkshill Camp For Boys by terry loscombe (Member 10046453) on 10-Jan-2006
I remember coming to Deal when I was a kid on holiday. It was a school trip and I am sure the camp was called Hawkshill?
Can anyone confirm this please. It must have been in the late 60's early 70's.
Thanks again.

Yes, it is a place! Near Walmer Castle overlooking the sea. Was a WW1 aerodrome, today a nice bracing walk with the dogs. I think there is still a camp there in the Summer, lots of pony trekking goes on round there. Hope this helps

    Hawkshill Camp, Walmer, Kent
Dear Rose, Look here, I may be, in fact I am, many things, but I am not the top part of a barn (usually empty) I am LOFTY. It is now ab... more >>

what's it really like? by te34resa (Member 10146406) on 15-Apr-2005
We're looking around various coastal towns in Kent and Sussex with a thought to moving. What do people think to living in Deal? Can you think of somewhere on the coast that's nicer?
