Does anyone know anything about a murder case which became known as "The Deptford Poisonings?" The case was around 1881 and involved a mother and daughter Amelia and Elizabeth Winters, who killed their lodgers. Any info would be much appreciated. Hi, I am looking for information on a driscoll family who lived in Deptford in 1881 and 1891. Their names were Daniel and Jane Driscoll and their children were John, James, Elizabeth, Daniel and Jane. They lived on Sayes Street Deptford. They had moved to Southwark by 1901. I am doing my family tree and trying to trace the sister and brothers of my Grandfather Edward Brown. He was born in 1890 in kent and has 4 sisters namely Elizabeth A.known as Lizzie born around 1881 , Ellen J. known as Nelly born around 1877. I think either Nelly or Lizzy married someone with the name of Jeffries,there was also a sister called Harriet born around 1884,Susannah born around 1881 and a brother James t. born around 1886 he was beleived to have gone in to the navy and was a submariner.Lizzy and Nelly I believe were living in the deptford area in some flats around about 1950's My grandfathers wife was Susan Charlotte and was killed in the blitz in 1942. ... more >> Reply
