- one cinema 'the angel' people need to support this as much as possible as it keep's nearly going to the wall... has a club to on sunday's which play's vintage film's
- Excellent film club shows films on Tuesday evenings at 8:45 at the Palace Cinema in Devizes town square. Films are contemporary ones which usually miss the small-town circuit. Very friendly atmosphere. Non-members are welcome, but membership costs just £5 for which you get advance notification of films and even get to help choose what's shown ! - The Palace Cinema is now open again after a campaign by the quite excellent local paper, the Gazette and Herald. Hurrah!
But cinema owner John Angel has threatened to close it again if too few people open it. Boo!
- The devises cinima has sadly closed and except for special events will never open again.
- I swear it's run by the local Woodcraft leader.
- Centrally located in The Market Place, the Palace Cinema provides an interesting low cost option for an evening's entertainment. Avoiding the need to drive to a swanky multiplex located on the edge of Plastic Ville also means that you can nip down one of the many local pubs afterwards to discuss the merits of the film/get merry/get wrecked (delete where applicable).
- There's a little 1-screener in the Market Place, cheap night is Monday. It's kind of old and quaint... can't remember the last time I went... oh I think just before I got a car and could escape to the multiplex in Swindon!!!
