Live Music Venues
- not unless an ambulance is your version of a taxi
- Central Park - check out jazz night
Horse & Groom - Irish stuff, very clean, great Guiness
- The Regent Hotel
- Again the leopard, not a posh place but kicking , also try
Doncaster little theatre , details on the website checkout the corner pin, st sephulchre gate west on a thursday, always have a good band on , real ales , free entry
- The Eagle and Child have started to have bands on!
- The Doncaster Dome, Sheffield Hallam Arena
- Leopard, says it all, this champion of the northen music scene has seen every band that is anyone pas through and up its hallowed stairs, great venue and still going strong a doncaster and uk classic!
- The Dome has been known to put on some big acts in the past - Paul Weller, Gabrielle and loads more... Central Park, as mentioned before for live jazz/swing... Sheffield Don Valley Stadium is probably the best bet for gigs... Or in August, up the A1 to Leeds and go to the Carling Festival!
- sheffield arena and city hall. small bands play at the pub near regent hotel.
- Hallcross pub is great for bands, people look scarey but only interested in good night out with music.
- Apart from the dome which holds 3000 people, the only serious music venue is The Leopard on West Street. The wide range of bands that have played there during the last six months of 2004 include Kasabian; The 22-20s; Bad Manners; Dr Feelgood; Lord Bishop; Rachel Stamp; Dogs D'Amour; Ginger from The Wildhearts; Five Horse Johnson and Man. They also put on good quality tributes like Limehouse Lizzy, Ummagumma; The Rubber Plants and Livewire. I'd put the venue on a par with Fibbers in York or The Charlotte in Leicester, but the layout when watching a band is better.
- The Dome has the biggest shows with the biggest names, so keep your eye out. I think Little Britain are performing around here, but it mite be in Sheffield but thats no trouble.
- hi, i've just opened a web site for the hallcross rock bar in doncaster, as i have nothing else to do it will be kept up to date :)
http://www.hallcross.co.uk/index.htm
- The Tut & Shive, The Leopard, Spiders Web .. all within 5 mins of each other.
- the leopard-very cool
- Spiders Web and Tut n Shive on Tuesdays
- Doncaster Warehouse - Northbridge, The Dome
- Livingstones on Thursdays, live bands - seen a couple of good ones and some duff ones too. NOT the same type of 'bands' as seen at the Leopard tho'
- doncaster has music venues?
- The guy who sings Beatles songs every Saturday in the subway between Frenchgate Centre and the Northern bus station may actually sign one all the way through one day?
- If there are any- i think the leopard or tut 'n' shive
- ive seen some great bands at the dome other than that
tut & shive is cool & sometimes, paris gate
- The Dome, all the top bands go there for a Jam session.
- There isn't a full time one at the moment. The Castle plays host to local(ish) bands on Thursdays and Sundays, as does the Saracen's Head. All the Working Men's Clubs have acts most evenings, which generally range from dreadful to appalling. Sheffield's still the best bet in this area.
- The Leopard (a bar) has bands on every now and then, 60ft dolls were one of the last big neames that I remember playing there. Also the Dome is playing big acts such as theManic Street Preachers, Suede, Brand New Heavies amongst others.
- The kind of bands attracted to Doncaster [1997] is far better than a few years a go, eg. in the last two years alone it has seen Mansun, Manic Street Preachers, Suede, Black Grape, Cast, Charlatans, Ocean Colour Scene, Radiohead, The Casino.
- Most notable music venue currently is probably the Leopard public house, close to Doncaster railway station in the town centre. It features regular lives bands, usually in a separate hall upstairs.
