Skateboarding Spots
  • There is a small skateboard area in Dorchester main car park behind the Goulds shop. I have heard this is being improoved shortly by a private source but I'm not 100% on that.

  • There aren't ANY skateparks or anything in Dorch. Just some lame little ramp in charles street.
  • Dorch is crap for skateing, but there are a few good spots. damers first school is a good spot just up the road from the hospital, it has a nice 4 set, two 2 sets, a few ledges, a big 3 set, a big ledge round the back with a massive gap.
  • car park...good for trolley riding as well
  • There is a skate park in charles street car park. It might not be the best skate park in the world but the surrounding area is perfect for pulling your moves and meeting some fellow skater dudes.

  • its not that good but near hardy arcade in town there is a skatepark.
  • St Osmunds school has a few flat banks, a big front 3, a 2 set and another 3. Also St Marys school has a 4 set round the back but it has no run up. The Damers 4 is now out of bounds as the police get involved. Market Carpark is good 2 skate in the rain. The Currys gaps have been fenced off but there are some roll off ledges and the Dorchester Football club stairs. Check 'em out! Mills
  • charles street car park now has a tempory skate park. (just a few little ramps and a rail). a decent skate park was promised soon. it is to be located by maumbury rings.
  • Charles Street is the main spot, but I am assured by my Skater brother it is still pants.
  • Charles street car park now has a small skate park, and I mean small - like there's a fun box and a few other small ramps but no halfpipe. Better than nothing though. And there is still the half pipe out towards Maiden Castle, which for some reason is listed in the Weymouth entry - now Weymouth has a really huge skatepark, but you have to pay.
  • Small skatepark in Charles Street Carpark with ramps and grind bar (this is just a temporary spot or so the councillors tell us!!)
  • in the evening 7 onwards, currys car park theres good small gaps with varied sizes, good surfaces and tescos is about 50 yards away. also county hall has a big 8 set around the back and also plenty of 4's one 5 set two 3sets and a diddy 2.a good hand rail on the 5 but only about 6 metres run up.ossies new sports complex has a big 8 set.
  • Most of the towns car parks are starting to attract skaters. There is now a crap little area put aside for street behind Steptoes but it ain`t up too much. To check out the local skaters and areas see www.southcoastunderground.co.uk.
  • currys car park (near tesco's),a few gaps, drops etc napers myte steps (you get kicked out quickly by security, be quick!) train station (right next to police station, a bit risky but a nice 5 set.) snooker club steps borough gardens(small steps, banks and metal benches)
  • Skate Ramp, End of Maiden Castle road. Excellent place for complete beginners, but you do get some pretty good skaters up there to.
  • 13/6/2000.Ramps are still there & in not 2 bad a condition.Good for beginners !!! It's stuck out of the way.Follow the directions as given & it's om the left. Hopefully Weymouth will get a new SK8 park built soon.Still in planing stage at the moment though !! GET A MOVE ON GUY'S WE NEED ONE HERE!!!
  • Skateboard ramp on Maiden Castle Road: been there with no maintenance (except when it got flattened by that hurricane) since 1989 so if you fall you WILL get splinters!!
  • Charles street car park rules. There's stairs, rails, banks and benches!! It's behind the church in the town centre, and by Waitrose
  • 20' wide Ñ 12' of it 6' high, 8' of it 8' high, 8' transitions, 12' of flat, escalator on one side on Maiden Castle Road (last right out of Dorchester on Weymouth Road). All metal built courtesy of Dorchester Council, anonymous benefactor, Mark Noble of Invert mag and the building team. I wonder if this still exists?
