  • Alan Black the former BBC Radio and television disc jockey, and his older brother Ian Black, scriptwriter for hit TV shows like "Special Branch" and "This Is Your Life", were born and raised in Rosyth and went to Dunfermline High School. Ian brought Jeff Bridges home to meet his Mum Tibbie Black back in 1970, long before he became famous. Later, he brought Jeff's mum and dad, Dorothy and Lloyd Bridges, to Rosyth to meet his family.
  • Whilst Big Country are associated with Dunfermline, not one of the band were actually born in Scotland, let alone Dunfermline
  • Trudi Thomson, represented Great Britain in the marathon at the World Athletics Championships in Stuttgart. Won a silver medal at the World 100K Championships. Lives on Kingseat Road.
  • Barbara Dickson, Bruce Watson (Big Country), Gillian McKeith, Nazareth
  • everyone who is famous tht lived here now doesn't i mean if you had money would YOU still live here?
  • Barbra Dickson and "Dr" Gillian McKeith both went to Woodmill High School. As every kid who went to school in Dunfermline knows Andrew Carnegie was born here before going on to build the American Railroads.
  • ALEXANDER DICK MILLER Known as 'The Dunfermline Giant' as he was 7 ft 6 inches tall. It has been suggested that he was presented to Queen Victoria as he was the tallest man in Britain at that time. Unfortunately, he died in Dunfermline on 9 January 1872 whilst still young. More information and to see a small selection of his clothes can be seen at Pittencrief Park House, Dunfermline. The Miller's still live local in one of the family built homes.
  • Barbera dickson the singer is from dunfermline and Stevie Crawford also lives here!!
  • Big Davy Simpson the thai-boxer, got sponsorship to fight professionally, moved to Thailand and now living back in Dunfermline but there has been talks of him going back to Thailand or moving to Denmark, fights in Glasgow and London, see him on Eurosport occasionally.

  • Ian Mackie, 100m runner for Pitreavie, ran in the Olympics.
  • Cathy Macdonald or Crombie - the lady that does all the gaelic programmes, stays up by canmore golf course by the high school.
  • Lindsey MacDonald the runner who competed in either the olympics or the commonwealth games (or both - can't remember) back in the 80's. Lives in Hong Kong now.
  • Bruce Watson from Big Country is still resident in the area. Met him on a train a few weeks ago and he's still gigging. Best Wishes, Bruce.
  • Ian Anderson, the frontman of Jethro Tull was born here and stayed in Headwell Road and Aberdour Road as a child.
  • Denise Coffey? - Comic Actress.
  • 'Sheila Hynd', AKA 'Faye Fife' - Singer with the Rezillos / Revillos.

  • norrie macathie ex pars captain,alec macally head knob in the b`room (but he`s braw)chalky cause he`s the best looking policeman in the toon, peter burch the paramedic+he gave me the kiss of life m m m m m m!!!!!!+ charlie fae life (later darling later!!)
  • Debbie Knox, who was in the fab four who won curling gold in this yer's Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City

  • Bill Simpson, formerly of "The Skids", live and well working as an Estate Agent with "Morgans", East Port, Dunfermline!!!
  • Jan Wilson, star of many scottish soaps, comedies and films now lives in Dunfermline, near the old theatre, now a bingo hall.
  • There's a person called Davie Drummond from down Abbeyview way who I'm sure most people in their late 20's will be aware of. I can hear screaming now! This guy is famous for serving up the ugliest women in Dunfermline, knobbing only the best aliens from Planet X. Lets hear a round of applause for him - he has provided a valuable service for those who avoid the jakes!

  • I think someone from Runrig. STuart Adamson!!! HUH....Who is he??!!
  • Pete Clark born and went to school in Dunfermline - appears in Australian magazine with Neil Gow's fiddle http://www.scotsheritage.com.au/peteclark.htm
  • Richard Jobson went to school there, so did the rest of the erstwhile Skids.
  • Nazareth (can you remember that far back) came from Dunfermline.
  • And, of course, strike breaking US steel baron, Andrew Carnegie.

  • Morris Malpas (played for Dundee Utd & Scotland) was born in a wee village outside Dunfermline called Townhill, where I'm from. Barbara Dickson, Sheena Easton.

  • Jobson was from Glasgow, he worked in Monotype (originally in Halbeath rd opposite the old ASDA) on the YTS scheme... Late 70's
