Cheap Food in Dunfermline, Fife*

Corner eateries, quick bites and the local chippy

You can tell us more about Dunfermline.

Cheap Food
  • A bin
  • It's all cheap, but it doesn't mean it costs cheap
  • The bins behind the Kingsgate have occasionally served up a tasty treat for me. Just watch out for the security guards and you'll be enjoying yesterday's Marks and Spencer sandwiches for free!
  • mcd's canny beat it
  • The Italian place at top of the Kingsgate, Luigis, is good and has a cheap set menu before 6pm. Casa Roma in Halbeath is also brilliant food if you can handle the bloke who runs it being over friendly, hovering over you and trying to make conversation whilst you try to eat in peace.
  • pizza boy asda smartprice range the co-op on robertson road and costcutters
  • Standard fare, McDonalds x 2. One in the high street follow the trail of rubbish and you will soon find it. One at Halbeath Leisure Park. Look out for the little piles of McDonalds bags and cups left by the neds in their nedmobiles, mainly loud Corsa's, Nova's etc and you will be headed in the right direction.
  • Nobles, Mexican
  • You have to go to Taurasi'a - fanatastic Italian across from the Fire Station. ALways welcoming and food is fabulous. The Noodle Bar is doing a great business for a chinese buffet - same food for weeks however but cheap and cheerful
  • The Town House - great posh food using Scottish produce. No smoking policy.
  • greggs
  • wan lam or the empress in brucefield, best chinese in dunfermline
  • The TownHouse - excellent, classy restaurant. Viceroy for an Indian - first rate. Tho the main waiter guy is a bit smarmy and fancies my bird. Btw, Osama Bin Laden works there. I'm not kidding - check it out!
  • micky d`s, the brig chippy
  • blossoms, best sesame prawn toast anywhere! lol ummm marcantonios (sp?!) across from the fire station does the best takeaway pizzas
  • aldo`s chippy/italian is the place to go for big eat`s after a night out+its just next to the "Ballroom" even tastes good when uv`e sobbered up!!!
  • The Townhouse, East Port - absolutely fantastic food and wine - pricey but worth it for a special occasion! Excellent atmosphere and beautifully done out.
  • Kebab shop pposite town hall.
  • Watering hole do a mean steak pie! Bar brio okay, can be a bit expensive! Somewhere else nice food as with sinky's. Or if u are having a skint week u just have to make do with mcdonalds or Stephens the bakers!!
  • Check out The Viceroy, the best Indian outside of Glasgow (which is of course the curry capital of the world)
  • The recently opened "Town House" excellent food and very friendly staff, best restaurant in Dunfermline!!!!
  • THE KABAB ACROSS FAE MONTY`S DOES A GREAT BURGER AND CHIPS WHEN YOUR A LITTLE WORSE FOR WEAR
  • nice bar lunch in somewhere else - nice little cosy pub!
  • Luigi's the Italian restuarant at the top of the shopping centre, up the escalotor is a brill place to eat, the foods good and the atmosphere is excellant!!!!
  • Powah, the chinese take-away is VERY good. There's a Cantonese resturant (Blossom) just round the corner fae Block Buster video.
  • Only Mac Donalds or a couple of OAP's cafes!!
  • bruce & glens
  • McDonald's, Oliver's, Stephen's the Bakers - Do amazing steak bridies, Cafe Brio,
  • Generally, very bad for pub grub. There is a Pierre Victoire, and an excellent but not cheap Chinese restaurant called Noble Cuisene. For Cheap and cheerful try Poh Wah's Chalmers Street, for tasty takeaway, and 70's style restaurant (while you are there say hello to Lin, the owner, you can't miss him - he looks as if he just walked off the set of a Jackie Chan film.)
  • Standard McDonalds, Pizza Hut etc.
  • Outskirts of Dunfermline, The Hideaway at Halbeath. Pub/Restaurant, excellent food and drink at reasonable cost Much better than the Brewers Fayre in the Retail Park next to Asda
  • Cafe Brio does totally groovy and yummy food
