Cafes and Coffee Shops
- The new Costa, where the inane yacking of coffee shop intellectuals is occasionally overwhelmed by the pretentious burbling of the machine creating an overpriced mochalochachoccachino.
- Attempts are made to be arty and classy, and they will draw classy tourist types and the more attractive females among them in the summer.
OoH La La aspires to be a little bit classy, but it looks like they might serve frozen crap that would be at home with a splash of HP Sauce. Locals would think it was posh.
- Steer clear of Ooohla at the bottom of the High Street. The cakes look nice but the service is terrible. Don't be fooled. The takeaway shop opposite the cafe may be alright, although I'm unable to comment having never tried it.
- A new book/cafe called Escape opening soon. About time too as WH Smith is no substitute for a decent bookshop.
- well if u want sumthing decent giacomos is gud but the decor's a bit old n u need a bank loan for a cake
- Giacomos rocks!!
- Costa on the corner of the High Streat and East Port is one of the few places you can get good coffee. Elsewhere you get a murky looking scant teaspoon of nescafe with a splash of milk in it.
- The Factory Shop Cafe, Abbotts House, Giacomos
- Wee place at the top of the escalators in the Kingsgate shopping centre is nice. Or O'Brien's in the High Street. Also Costa Coffee at the top of the New Row
- costa
- Costa mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!
- Tiffany's at Carnegie Hall. Errr, that's it, i think. Oh, maybe the Abbot House. If you like the smell of old wifies, that is
- o`brians coffee/eatery beside the cross
- theres a new internet cafe opened up by the city chambers at the bottom of the highstreet try it!
- Stephens the bakers.. best pie in Scotland (and therefore the world).
- Bar Brio rocks!!!!!! It has the best club sandwiches and coleslaw on the planet! Or it did when i worked there :-)
- Dunfermline's gone all up-market these days, with a Costa Coffee at the top of the New Row and Café Brio at the bottom of Guild Hall Street, which are actually really nice...
- The Abbot house coffee shop, although very nice is usually busy.
