The Stuff We Can't Fit In Somewhere Else
  • Still living in the dark ages. Instead of trying to be a City this small-minded town acts like a village.
  • If you venture to Dunfermline for a visit, remember to travel in by jeep, landrover or some other sturdy vehicle. The roads are in a dreadful state, potholes four and five inches deep are not unusual. To make matters worse the powers that be have now started to install inverted potholes, they call them speed humps, in every route in and out of the town, I think they want to keep new people out and trap the present population in.
  • Fairly newish resident to Dunfermline area. Previous no-knowledge of Dunfermline apart from when I used to work with a Dunfermline born person in Edinburgh. We both trained at the same rugby club and developing different parts of the body (in this case, the legs for running) was a subject of passing interest. I wasn't that interested when he mentioned that people from Dunfermline have super-developed calf muscles because of all the hilly pavements. I now realise that he wasn't kidding - my walking is hampered by MS and walking in Dunfermline represents a fair challenge and my days of playing rugby are a distant memory - phew!
  • The town is a toilet. I've lived here for 3.5 years now and can think of v v little nice to say about the place. The sooner it is demolished, the better. In fact, the whole of SW Fife is a haemorrhoid on the arse of humanity. If only the city fathers had poured money into pomoting the town after the BraveHeart movie in 1995 - then the yanks would be falling over themselves to visit. There is so much heritage there - but Fife folk just don't want to know.
  • never go down the glen when its dark BAD IDE
  • Red Light District - virtually non existent!
  • You have got to check out and add your details to www.friendsreunited.co.uk. Come on - especially you woodmill folk. You enter your school and year and can contact ex school chums.,
  • Best not to go down the glen after dark unless you actually ARE looking for a fight!
  • The most underrated 'best thing' in Dunfermline has to be The Spartans Display Team based at the Carnegie Leisure Centre, Dunfermline. They are a team made up of skaters, gymnasts (and drinkers!) who get together and do gym stunts and the likes. www.dspartans.freeserve.co.uk - worth a look! Help spread the word.....
  • Dunfermline is the Ancient Capitol of Scotland and William Wallaces Mother is buried in the Churchyard of Dunfermline Abbey Andrew Carnegie was said what Benares is to Hindu, Mecca to the Moslems, Jerusalem to the Christians Dunfermline is all that to me
  • Don't let your children grow up there.
  • VERY EASY TO PULL!
