I was born in Elliott street Dunfermline and moved to Jennie Rennies road in 1968, attended St Leonards wee school and then the big school and then onto Dunfermline High School. I was seriously in love with a local girl in 1951 as an apprentice at Caledonia. When I left and was on the way to Korea I broke off the relationship. A family close to my own family had a daughter, we were brought up together and she was my childhood girlfriend, (off and on over the years - as these things happen when you are young). She contracted TB and both families had the expectation I would stick around and support her. She died while I was away in Korea. I visited Rosyth when I got home with the intention of seeking the girl I still loved.....we met as I boarderded and she got off a bus....but I was too afraid to make any approach and left town the same day. She will be in her 70's now but if she ready this shw will recognise the story and my name. I'd dearly love to be in touch if she is still alive and is willing. I'm looking for anyone who remembers a Jim Crawford. He was born in the town in 1948. His parents, James and Annie, stayed at 30 King's Road, Rosyth at the time. His father was an engineer. I don't know what schools Jim went to, but perhaps King's Road and Dunfermline High? He went on to a career as a racing driver and I am currently researching his life. Kevin. Still looking for info on a lost relative of my stepfather. Greta Whittall ( nee Emondson) born 1909 Barrow-in-Furness, left or was kicked out of the family home due to a crises not known as my stepfather was only four years old, never heard from or saw her again, knows nothing of her family, just really trying to find what become of his mother during the time she went, her birth certificates sta tes William Edmondson b: 1888 as her father, Angelina Edmondson ( nee Harvey) as mother. 1911 census shows her as an only child at that time aged two, living at 89, Smeaton Street, Cumbria. it is thought that she may have went to London or Scotland, could have remarried had more children whatever. any info would be much appreciated ... more >> Reply
