Clubs (Dance Music) and Music Bars
- i have to say that although a lot of people knock it, i actually love jumpin jacks! not in a fluffy kind of way, but its great for reunions, and meeting up with the slags that bullied u at school! its fab for an end of night boogie, and the staff are hilariously NOT FUNNY which in a goofy way makes them funny! i haven't been to shite rock cafe and dont intend to as i cherish my head right now (those bouncers are EVIL) and i havent been to cubes either as my mum and mum in law both go there so that would just be WEIRD!
- jumpin jacks
- there's only one so-called Jumpin Jaks, "saturday nights at jumpin jaks really rounds off my weekend, the atmosphere's great and they'r great at getting people involved..." purlease give me a break! i'v been hearing that sentence on the radio for at least 4 years, dont take a word of it
- not gd at these but hear goes. Jumping Jacks, Danzes; 1 man night club. Cubes?!?!
- Jumpin` jacks in the quadrant. i personally ain`t bin ther an` i don`t plan on goin` there eva `coz i h8 that shite
- Well Icon has now been converted to another souless nightspot - Jumping Jaks with the usual mixuture of bouncers with attitude and overpriced drinks. Its only redeeming quality is that its cheap to get in. And who's idea was it to put a toilet attendant in a Dunstable night club? That poor woman is more likey to get a fat lip than a tip from some of the 'nice' girls that frequent that place!
- Jumpin Jaks is like a school disco mixed with a really cheap office works do mixed with a OAP tea party - seems to suit the dunstable townie scum (of all ages) down to earth
- Ritzy/Icon is now Jumpin Jaks. A cheesier than my mans feet cheese... Not worth it unless u visit once every 4 months. U can bear to go there then! Cubes? Up to date plenty bar space and dance floor space! Its the old bingo hall with purple and orange paint strewn everywhere! But better than Jaks to bust a few moves!
- no but there is the old red lion - where i work!
- Ritzy's became Ikon and is now JUMPIN JAK'S. Great if your'e hammered-do not go sober! That is it.
- Jumpin Jaks....if yer like that sort of thing. Best to go in a crowd on cheapo night.
- Ikon was shit, but it wasn't jumpin jaks. Ikon was full of young people enjoying themselves mainly even if a small proportion were underage. Its now rammed on a saturday with a different type of clientel. Jumpin Jaks is home to your parents or your hard-bastard neighbour who is 30 odd and has 2 rotweilers guarding his council home. These older people turn up in their lardy-dah bright ben sherman shirts that they think are all the rage, and stand around looking down on the young'uns and looking like they want a fight. Its also full of fat old tarts who belong down the social club or the bingo hall. These people just also happen to be the scum of the earth and who also (and non-coincedentally) sadly live in my little shitty town they call dunstable. There are no "dnace clubs" in dunstable, never have been, never will be - just townie discotheques. Bring back Ikon, it was shit but it was fun. I have moved on to bigger and better, sadly this doesn't exist in the whole of bedfordshire. YOUNG CLUBBERS -THE PAST / CURRENT / FUTURE IS THE MIDLANDS - Its not luton and your garage and cheese nights at the @mosphere and liquid discotheques. FOR GODS SAKE GIVE US SOMEWHERE NICE AND WITH NO ATTITUDE TO SOCIALISE, FOR GODS SAKE DESTROY BEDFORDSHIRE!!! RH
- Ikon, which used to be Ritzy, where you can get slaughtered on 3 bottles of Hooch, smash your girlfriend's head off a car bonnet outside and STILL have loads of mates the next day!
- Icon (ex-Ritzy) - the ideal place to go out with 9 of your mates, drink 10 bottles of piss-weak lager (but not actually finish any one bottle), batter your girlfriend's head against a car bonnet outside AND still be popular in the morning.
- there are a few want to be clubs one of which is downtown cafe. Here the bouncers or is it doormen like to bonce people of the sidewalk just for being there. Takes to long to be served and is full of cheesy posers. That place by hunters gym can't remember the name used to be ok but has now attracted all the local kiddies who can't handle their drink and nearly always end up in a fight
- Icon has now changed to Jumpin Jacks.
- Jumpin' Jaks - Great at the moment playing a mixture of 80's and 90's music. Could be over-run by people who are into the more modern trance jazz.
- The bingo hall is about to be turned back into a club again - so I hear
- Ikon for 2 more weeks(as of 31 3 01). Sad to see this home of uk clubbing leaving town. Only hope they can find something more entertaining to replace it such as a model train shop.
Dancez. Small's the word i think.
- Icon: On a Friday and Saturday it also plays to possibly a very youthfull clientele. The tunes can only be described as pure commercial cheese with sprinkling of stilton garage. Meat market also springs to mind.
