The place to go for a lazy afternoon, pub quiz or last call
You can tell us more about Dunstable.
Pubs
- white swan... i go with some "fresh faced crowds" now and again... noteably younger siblings! however the bar staff crack me up!
- churchill is good, has a not bad rock night on a friday. good cheap drinks, and sport on too. good selection of music, and the dj there (upstairs and downstairs) will play nething u want as long as he has it.
the glider is my local when i'm in the bubble. it can be good as long as u know the locals, and respect them. have the most amazing looking barmaid too. she's so hot its just worth going down on a sat night to look at her. stunner
- winston churchill, froth an` elbow, borough arms, the globe, the saracen`s head, the nag`s head, the crown, brooklin` bar, old sugar loaf, how sjoul i no any others, i`m only 15 for god`s sake.
- Mulberry Bush on a good day is well worthaa visit to chill out TV's playin music vids all day, footy screen...get served quite soon too! HOWEVER is a bit far out of town...so only worth visiting for a couple.
Sugar loaf has been revamped...its just brighter and not likely to collapse on u. Usual ppl in there plus some OAPS.
- OLD RED LION - I WORK THERE. AND THE FARMERS BOY AND THE PACKHORSE
- Chalkj Hill pub..down through the chalk cutting on the way to Hockliffe...bit pricey, but they do do a nice alligator steak, roo pie, buffalo burger and other delights, the current landlord is from the balkans, he can speak english ( quite well in fact), his wife however speaks it better, is not as pretty as him but fortunatly is upstairs most of the time.
This place does have it's small crowd of rugulars, who are mostly well behaved...sometimes.
- Down town Cafe- middle aged drinking pub, quite quiet apart from a saturday night.
Bar Chameleon-have been told it's quite funky.
Sugar Loaf- where everyone starts their night.
The Priory- chiltern fm's dive
Saracens Head- nice atmosphere
- The Wheatsheaf, now resurfacing after a decline of late. Was THE alternative pub of the 80's. Gaye Bykers on Acid played there, as did Ride (before they were famous.)
- Take your newborn baby to the Winston Churchill, I bet it will get served!!!
- The sugar loaf - attitude, rough, pathetic
The bull - attitude, rough, pathetic
The nags head - attitude, rough, pathetic
because
Dunstable - attitude, rough, pathetic
- Winston Churchill - formerly full of NF/BNP dickheads. Used to get smashed up on a regular basis. Now just very very boring.
Saracens Head - where all the tarts hang out (male and female)
- saracens head for "fresh faces"
- Winston Churchill used to be the hang-out joint for various NF / BNP scumbags, but its now just full of bitter twats looking for aggro / skirt. The Sugar Loaf was OK for a laugh, but agree with the comments about not staring at people.
- Nags Head, Crown, Wheatsheaf are ok.
- Only three pubs are worth visiting, The White Swan, The Saracens Head and the Sugar Loaf. DownTown cafe is a waste of time, the beer is expensive and foul, and the masturbation policy is too strict. The Glider pub if full of gypos.
- The Glider - The epitome of Scum. Once a pleasurable destination for a few beers now a fighting dog infested shithole. Regulars are often dismayed at the half chewed leftovers of dogs bones lying around the floor and the barking dog which never shuts up. Dog urine stained carpets and slow service set the Glider apart as a drinking mans hell.
- The Old Sugar Loaf (or "the loaf"). The best pub in Dunstable although there ever changing age restrictions continue to baffle. Run by aussies for about the past 10 years who obviously have no idea how to paint a building
- For old gits the White Swan or dirty duck as its known locally serves a nice pint of the Irish Black stuff
- Only two pubs worth mentioning, Saracens Heads and the Sugar Loaf which are both pre Icon pubs. The Saracens head boasts a coach trip to another local club, and some pool tables. The sugar Loaf is actually quite nice, for your own safety just make sure you avoid eye contact with some of the piss-head crazy freaks there.
