The Worst Things in Dunstable, Bedfordshire*
The entirely missable and worth mentioning because of it
You can tell us more about Dunstable.
The Worst Things
- Town centre is very run down at the moment and traffic is terrible - gives a very poor impression of our town. Hopefully regeneration coming soon!
- thers loadsa muggins n stff nw
- it's dunstable. nough said
- lil ali-g wannabes!TOTALLY! and they seem to be getting younger and younger! bowling around on the streets, with their trousers tucked in their socks and spitting everywhere thinking they're cool, i dont blame them since there's not much to do here...
- Kevs, rude boys, no skatepark.
- I lived the first 17 years of my life in Wolverhampton, studied in Leicester and worked in Johannesburg. Therefore, I think I'm fairly well qualified to comment on hell holes. I lived in Dunstable for 6 months and it was the most miserable experience of my life. It rained continually for the 1st 2 weeks. Its constantly overcast. The public transport links are appalling (and they only take you to Luton anyway), the roads are permanately congested, the air quality is terrible, the pubs are horrible and dangerous (Slaughtered Lamb), there's one good restaurant (the Thai one), there are no decent shops, no cofee shops, no venues for music, nothing. Its one great big vacuum. Truly, the worst place to live in the universe.
- Townie scum - please listen - track suit bottoms aren't cool with socks over the top and whilst wearing white classics trainers, neither are matching denim jeans and jackets worn with white t-shirts and white classics. Ben Shermans haven't been cool since - they've never been cool. Garage music was good for a year, luton doesn't offer you the chance to listen to dance music, if thats what you think then you don't even know what dance music is, there is a good music scene and it doesn't involve linkin park or any other rock rap, CAPDOWN are from up the road in Milton keynes and are a good band that actally have meaning to their songs. PLEASE STOP LISTENING TO CHILTERN FM It really is a rubbish radio station, rent boy rich isn't funny he's a tw*t as is tank montana! The dance music played on friday/ saturday nights is cheese not dance and graham torrenton plays the same dated love songs every night of the week and never get better with age, listen to radio 1 or 2 or buy some decent cds - NOT MINISTRY OF SOUND COMPILATIONS THOUGH! If enough people stop listening to chiltern fm we'll eventually get a decent radio station......maybe! Be more adventurous when getting jobs, aim higher and the place will improve! IF ALL FAILS LEAVE THIS HOLE OF AN EXCUSE FOR A TOWN
- Jumpin Jaks
Everyone knows everyone
- They demolished the Civic Centre - a local landmark - and replaced it with an ugly Asda monster which looks like a big garden shed. What were they thinking of? The Civic Centre used to be used for all kinds of things. Some of my earliest memories are of the Civic Centre. My nana was upset about it being demolished as well, as she used to go dancing there.
- the pissheads - i am a youthworker. and i am constantly getting abuse at the youth club i work at with and i have had enuff!
- Clock Tower in the Market Square
- The fact they demolished that nice old Civic Centre and replaced it with a disgusting Asda superstore which looks like a big garden shed. Turn those nice concrete street lights in Chiltern Road back on and take those ugly, charmless, boring new metal ones away.
- Everything, except the a5 north and south on the way out
- Abysmal bus service, too many people aged over 65, too many people aged under 20, the perverts (Dunstable has a serious problem with flashers, rapists and gropers, avoid Dog Kennel Walk unless you want third degree anal blisters. This is NOT a joke).
- please mention the really bad traffic, expensive car parks and the infamous
"double doughnut" roundabout.
- the guys that call themselves "grunge" who run around with offspring and linkin park hoodies carrying skateboards thatthey can't even use without falling on their faces. or arses.
- Fascistic moronic pensioners, stupid suburban brats, ugly promiscuous disco dollies, wannabe hardmen who crap their pants if you pull off a good kung-fu kick, nowhere to go, crap bus service, alienation, 44-year old fat blokes who still live with their mothers, etc
- There's f**k all for the teenagers or kids to do in dunstable. They have the place and that about it really unless hanging round outside shops or in the town centre counts. What good is one disco a month, your meant to have fun when your young. Dog crap everywhere and the roads are always being dug up and whats up with the bus service?
- The town centre.
Few shops, noisy, polluted, dowdy. Picture London city central on a grim Monday morning.
- The rudeboy wanabees.
- Er....Northfields Upper School springs to mind
- All the druggies and pissheads walking aroung thinking they are ali g.Please.
- One of the worst places in the UK for asthma sufferers. Heavy traffic
on the M1 and A5, Luton Airport(Dunstable is near the flightpath),
and local chalk quarries all combine to make life hell
for anyone with asthma.
