Pubs in East Dereham, Norfolk*
The place to go for a lazy afternoon, pub quiz or last call
You can tell us more about East Dereham.
Pubs
- Avoid the Royal Standard like you would avoid a plague pit. Recently opened pub that went down hill quicker than Eddie the Eagle on a ski jump. Attracts a freash faced crowd. Yep could say that. Doesnt just sell beer either! Contains moron's and worse. I think one of the morons runs the place.
- DON'T go to the Fox and Hounds in Lyng as some nutter has suggested. The food is terrible (used to be absolutely fantastic but it's gone under new ownership); the staff are rude; and it's extremely 'local' - i.e. full of inbreds, rapists and paedophiles, and if you're really lucky, incestuous paedophile rapists. What can pass as 'quaint country charm' nowadays, I don't know...
- cherrytree or pheonix
- cherry tree, the railway tavern has fond memories when it was the bikers pub, and the gemini as my mates bike is buried there
- Two plasma screens make it a great venue for football
- The Coachmakers or 'Coach' the only place to go, if your on a mission to get better aquatinted with the bottom of the bog, heroes have been born and broken in this bar. Great for watching England match, Friday is karaoke night well worth a listen. Lets not forget that strange 'herbal' smell that oddly seem to appear out the back from the less clean patrons of the establishment. I’ll always have a small part of my heart in the 'coach', and a fair few parts of my stomach too...
- the Coach, The Plough, The Bull, The Red Lion, and The Cherry tree, then theres the Gemini, and The Millwrights in toftwood, and plenty of pubs in Norwich.
- the coach is a gud pub 2 go 2 on friday nites
- Try the Gemini, under new ownership, food is fantastic (beats the Hungry Horse), superb collection of original autographs, Andy the landlord will give you a guided tour!!
- standard, easy peps 2get along with (if u no wot i mean)
good laugh with the rite crowd.
plough lush
coachmakers lush underage
- The coachmakers, for under 16s the Standard
- the plough
- manda and jeremy are not at the brisley inn no more i think u will find, and also there is a very tasty barmaid in the bull
- Pubs are ok theres the cherry tree, bull, standard, plough, red lion. but you have to know one another to fit in
- we used to hang out in the Bull but it seems to be all old people now. Oh well. The Coachmaker is horrible.
- railway Tavern traffic lights east dereham junction of watton rd
also best fish and chip shop around
pub does good value sunday roast .
I go there because I'm in love with tracy and her mum .
they also have a nice bunch of customes
- The Coachmakers Arms is usually heaving with under 25s - same people every week, often karaoke
- If your "fresh faced" then the Coachmaker is for you. For a more upmarket pub the Phonix in the middle of town is also quite a nice pub. And what better way to end the evening tham going to Dereham's fantastic club (NOT) Splitz, nee The Downstairs.
- under age drinkers in dereham!! there aint none!! (yeah rite!!) visit the crown or standard if ya under 10
- The Plough is a niteclub style pub, with a custom built dance floor and has an 80's,90's and Noughties night on Friday, Hard house/dance on Sataurday and Karaoke on Thursdays and Sundays. It has a pool table and large screen for all sports and a handy bottle bar if you are in a hurry, especially as it gets packed on these nights. Food is also served during lunchtimes as it is open all day everyday! ENJOY!
- none worth a mention
- Surprised to see that no body has mentioned The Brisley Bell at Brisley - about 5 miles or so north of Dereham. A really excellent pub with a superb menu - especially if you like fresh fish. Always good bitter on draught - including two or three guest ales. Jeremy and Mandy, the owners, make everyone feel very welcome - locals and tourists alike.
- The Plough & Furrow is a T**t's place full of bald middle aged men chatting up teen girls, for a good time try the Cherry Tree or for spitoons go to the Red Lion.
- Cherry Tree Dereham! Marshy and Jo run a great pub with a great atmosphere! And no, I don't work for them! Well worth a look if you're in Dereham
- try the coachmakes opp neatherd high. they serve u as long as u dont look 3 years old
- PLOUGH , COACH, RED LION, BULL, CHERRY TREE
- Come and visit Longham White Horse!!!!!!!!!! It beats all the rest on here! So maybe the barman tends to be a little bit grumpy and the cook tends to be pissed most of the time it will be worth your visit, believe me!! Well at least you may bring some exitement to Longham- if anyone can!
- The Swan in Gressenhall is ALWAYS worth a visit.
- The Bull in East Dereham is a quality establishment; features include a big screen and pool table and open log fires which gives it that warm glow. With scrumptious food to boot, The Bull is the place to visit for a relaxing and freindly time. Located on the High Street, on the left past Norwich Road.
- The Fox & Hounds at Lyng is worth a visit.. only 6 miles from Dereham. 6 real ales including Abbot and mild.
- Millwright Arms. Tasty Barmaid, Great atmosphere, Doss house of Dereham YFC. Most Tuesdays.
- the george hotel at the top of swaffam hill shares its name with dicken,s cat and is most agreeable.
- My vote goes to the Millwright Arms because its like spending an evening
at your Nan and Grandads. Top decor and its as close to getting absolutely
wrecked at you grandparents as I hope youll ever get.
- Coachmakers rules!
- The Bull fits its name but we used to go ther anyway
- Loads - Railway Tavern fine, if quiet. Market place pubs tend to be louder and livelier.
