  • If you take a walk along Seaside Road, you might find an internet cafe.
  • Impact Gaming - an update. IG now has 94 computers, 71 for gaming and 23 for Internet use in a separate "Quiet Internet Suite". Every two month's there's an All-night event (hot food included) which is normally attended by 60-80 people, the vast majority of whom come back time and time again which would not be the case if they were as disorganised as some people here are suggesting. The number of PC's in for repair never exceeds 5% so you will always find a free PC (except on Saturday afternoons when all 71 can be in use). The building is now Non-Smoking which has been applauded by the vast majority of IG customers and the number of townies frequenting the place has fallen dramatically due to the smoking ban and also the closure of the lounge area. Despite considerable upgrades to the network, servers and Internet connections, the cost for gaming has remained at £5 for 3 hours. Opening times are now 10:00am to midnight 7 days a week and there are many offers and “bulk buy” discounts available, see the website for details www.impactgaming.co.uk
  • Impact Gaming - badly organize all night lan partys every two months and they arn't really worth the money when now a days you can just hook up a home network with freinds an have your own allnighter. They have also banned smoking from the building now so the 50% of the smoking customers arn't around as much as before instead the building tends to be full of more teenagers in sports gear with attitudes rather than hardcore gamers. Its a pity as when it first opened it was great, but now they are following in the same footsteps as Netplay who struggle with the upkeep of working pc's and the younger generation that tend to break them. But if you have got £5 to £15 to burn every day pff... enjoy gaming u lucky so and so.
  • ImpactGaming Centre is poorly organised and uneventful... Nuff said!
  • netplay sucks hard, poor service, the pcs hardly work when you want them to if you get a macine that works the mouse doesnt, or if the mouse does the headphones are faulty. i think the owner needs to spend a little more time there tbh. the netcafe above iceland rocks loads of pcs nice surroundings the local lads get a bit arsy if you kick their arse at counter strike like i do. they change your name on the pc to things like batty-rider while your playing to let you know they dont like getting owned!!
  • Impact Gaming is on of the largest Internet and Computer Gaming centres in the country. It has 28 machines solely for surfing the net and 36 (soon to be 43) high spec (XP, AMD 2200, GeForce 4400, 60gig HD etc) machines for gaming. It is situated in the town centre (above Iceland & opposite Kings Night club) and open 'til midnight every day of the week (1.00am Friday's & Saturday's). There's an 8 foot projector screen, large lounge area and separate vending and snack area. Do you want to know the best bit? It’s dirt cheap too! £5 gets you 3 hours of gaming or if you are in for a long haul £15 gets you 10 hours (Internet £1 per hour, £5 for 6 hours £10 for 13 hours). There are regular tournaments and all night events so what are you waiting for? www.impactgaming.co.uk (Ok this is an advert but hey! it's still a great place)
