There are plenty of sporting facilites too numerous to mention.
It's a shame that the windsurfing 'hut' doesn't have showers or even a toilet !!
Bit of windsurfing & sailing east of the Pier. 2 swimming pools - Sovereign Centre at eastern end of Seafront & Motcombe Pool in the Old Town. Motcombe is tiny but very nice. The Sovereign has a 50m pool & some fun slides but it's not that great.
The sovereign Centre does trampollining which is so much more fun than competative sports!
The Studio now has Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu teams, with gold medal winners!!!
im not really the sporting type however theres a watersports club on the seafront between the pier and the soveriegn centre / neil jaynes martial arts studio in the labrynth is great. six months with him and you 'll feel like bruce lee (i did). cavendish school is great for court sports and a bit of indoor 5 a side in the winter time.
