The Stuff We Can't Fit In Somewhere Else
  • If Eastbourne had good transport links it would be the best place in the UK for familes to live because of its excellent schools, sporting facilities and lack of crime. It needs more industry and employment opportunites to attract younger people with energy and drive. Unfortunately this is unlikely to happen.
  • eastbourne is full of grockells, by that i mean people are left to thiere own devices so they get so out of hand. put them in the city and watch them fall llike pussys
  • The best newsagent in the area, is wivout doubt Waters Daily News in Polegate. Friendly & helpful, much better than the previous owner!
  • Ok some people get really scared when they see grungers hanging around by the pier at 10 on a friday; infact they are the ones most commanly blamed for disfiguring our town, which is the worst judgement anyone could make. Not one of them that i have met has been rude or spiteful - unlike the townies in Eastbourne, and all are up for a laugh. They could be said to be overly friendly as they do have a habit of hugging or kissing complete strangers, but not in a ' dared ' way, its just the way they are. And as for their clothes, well, if they do not want to follow the crowd we should be proud of eastbourne's teenagers.
  • If whilst taking a brisk stroll along the promenade you feel a need to empty your bowels, but realise (alas!) you are out of 20ps to pay for entry to the public toilets by the pier, a cheaper alternative is to go underneath the pier, as (judging by the smell) the rest of Eastbourne does.

  • Ha ha love the comments made on here, only just found the site and think its hilarious. The whole townie/grunger thing is just mad can't believe that people actually fight over this.
  • people who say that eastbourne is run by young teenagers like myself thats because exapmle lik shinewater hold 3/4 of eastbourne tennagers so in some places teenagers are more than older people. stop the towny grunge fued
  • ERR.... I would just like to say that I think Eastbounre s alright. Its very clean, really nice in the summer & a nice place to work. I worked at a bank in Eastbourne when I was 17. I fell in love with the place 7 I move into my new place opposite the pier next month, so there. 7 yes Eastbourne iis bit towny but... thats the way i like (blody soap dodgers)
  • If you visit our town, keep all your valuebals safe, avoid local young kids, they are rude, and will mouth you off and take the shirt from your back...Over the past 10 years the town has lost it's peacfull image, and the young eliment have taken control, and yes we do have a drug problem.....
  • Just outside the town to the north on the A22 is arlington woods, loads of interesting action and freindly guys to hang with.
  • Hey hey hey what about the theatres? Eastbourne is a great town for theatres, we've got the Congress which is a huge aircraft hangar, the Devonshire Park where about half the plays are by Agatha Christie, the Hippodrome where nobody goes, the Arts Centre which is the one under the library, Park Theatre which is affiliated to the college and many more. We also have lots of open-air theatre. There is something for everyone and this is what is great about eastbourne. There's lots of opportunities for amateurs to perform in a proper theatre (as well as loads of church halls) as well as hosting big professional West End shows like Grease and 42nd Street.
  • It has concerned me for sometime now that the levels of hate are increasing in Eastbourne. Even on this site you can witness the 'townie' Vs 'grunger' phenomenon which is growing everyday. I just wanted to use this chance to say that it doesn't matter what you wear, where you go for a good night or what music you listen to, we're all people and we're stuck in this horrible town together. So why don't we all just try to get along, eh? And anyway guys we all know the whole townie/grunger thing is just a recreation of your Daddy's mods and rocker days. It time to grow up boys, or you'll be stuck in this town forever.
  • Don't listen to what has been said, be proud of your rude boy values, there is too much rivalry in the town, the grungers seem to have a problem with us. Get the message boys and girls "We don't care" Just leave it, and leave quietly without falling off your skateboard or tripping on your tent sized jeans.
  • THIS PLACE HAS REALLY CHANGED SINCE I LEFT 3 AND A HALF YEARS AGO!
