- Electric Cabaret!! The best mosher shop in the world! Selling everything from brands of New Rocks, numerous band shirts, a selection of coacks, trenchcoats, trousers (Criminal Damage or Tripp) and spikes. It is located just opposite the Royal museum, at the Forest Road end.
- Pixarie Creations - very individual clothing, accessories and neccessaties; a wide range of different styles; does commission work so if you need something specific they can make it for you; ethical and recycled stuff
- Goodstead on Bread Street is a really cool new unisex streetwear shop selling addict, WeSC, Staple, Trainerspotter and loads of other hard to find brands. Real nice decor, with art by banksy and D*Face and cool murals!
- Hello, just to let you know about a recently opened vintage & retro clothes shop on Home Street in Tollcross called Platform Soul. Sells clothes and accessories for the boys as well as the girls! Would be great if you could give the shop a mention on your site :)
- Joey D! A trove of original recycled fashion pieces, made by a nutter fashion designer and shop owner. It’s on Broughton Street which has got a good selection of bars and cafes, not much else for shopping, Well worth a trip for the experience.
- Cult, on the Bridges- stuff like Bench, really expensive -_-
Pie in the Sky and Cookie on Cockburn Street. Pretty stuff but way too expensive.
- If you like Heavy Red or Lip Service and other Alternative clothing such as corsets and loads of hard to find clothing from the states you'll love Courtesans Closet based in Portobello, just of the High Street. They also have a website at www.courtesanscloset.com! Amazing outfits that'll make um swoon : )
- Plenty of wash lines have clothes left on them at night if you're desperate beat up a prossy!
- Barnardo's, Oxfam, Cancer Research, British Heart Foundation as thats all they can afford once they've paid their mortgages.
- Harvey Nicholls is good (as always!)...I could, and have, spent fortunes there.lol.
- Why shop in Edinburgh when Glasgow is second only to London for shopping in the UK ?...and the people don't have their heads so far up their arses that they walk aboot inside oot!
- Cult
- OBM, 28 Lochrin Buildings, Edinburgh, EH39NB. Tel: 0131 229 6611.
Odd Ball Mall is Edinburgh's alternative streetwear and BMX shop. Rider owned and fiercely independent, sourcing only the choicest, most original designs from across the globe which aren't available anywhere else in the city. www.oddballmall.co.uk
- They are loads of great shops in edinburgh you could go to whiplash trash or pie in the sky or flip or caberet and so on so on
- Go to William Street for really lovely clothes (Sam Thomas), jewellery (Etincelle and Sam Thomas), shoe (Helen Bateman) and hat (Yvette Jelfs) boutiques. Some of the shops are a bit pricey but you will get something different from the main shopping streets.
- There's some really cool second hand shops in the Grassmarket, well worth a look.
- all the high street stores on princes street as usual...but if you go up the bridges there are a couple of cool stores, flip and cult
- The best clothes shops are underground nation on candlemaker row cabaret on which is next to greyfriars apocalypse up the south bridge i think clerk street
whip lash trash on cockburn street pie in the sky on cockburn street armstrongs on the grassmarket and joe kool which is next to cabaret
- I just found an amazing lingerie, clubwear, footwear and fetish shop on Dalry Road in Edinburgh, called G -Spot. The guy who runs it is always cheery and is a great help if your a bit unsure. Check it out, he has some very different gear.
- armstrongs and the thousands of charity shops are places were youll find something semi decent and cheap
- you'll have an orgasm if you're into Edinburgh Woollen Mill - there are fifty on Princes St alone
- Loads of retro clothes available here in Edinburgh for some reason. Try 'rusty zip' around the uni area. Or Armstrongs in Mayfield. Or Flip (for skater clothes and crap clubbing gear) opposite Old College. Or Armstrongs in Grassmarket.
- those two oxfam approximations on nicholson st (?) next to the sta...scored a nice marks & spensers number there for 4 quid...smells like edinburgh, haven't washed it since.
- cult top class shop
- everywhere on cockburn street
- -flipp incorporated (south bridge), ground control (cockburn st.), cult (north bridge). cool alternitive clothing shops but a little pricey!
- Cult is my favourite. The obvious ones are on princes street (next, gap, topshop, river island etc), more expensive ones on George Street (coast, french connection etc). waverly market is shit, but fort kinnaird out of town is not bad.
- The charity and second-hand shops rule. They are found all over the place.
- Stay away from Princess Street if you're looking for "evening wear." Check out a few of the shops on South Clerk Street, although its always worth going through to Glasgow where the clothes shops are 60 times better.
- Cruise: stuck up staff, inefficient, no idea of customer care... some nice clothes though (and some ghastly ones)
- Smiths Menswear: Check it out - staff are rad, know what they are talking about, one to one personal care, all the clothes you want to wear, D&G, Armani White Label, Hugo etc
- Go to Glasgow! There aren't that many good shops in Edinburgh, but the best ones are McKenzie and Smiths in Hunter Square. Xile in the Waverly Shopping Centre. Jenners! (of course). Cruise in St Marys Street.
- I have just discover two small shops which sell cool skating clothes thanks to a mate. They are called "Kool" and "Wacky" and are on Victoria Street across the road from the Music Box. They sell second hand as well as new and have a big range of different coloured combats, hooded tops and Baggies. Also hemp shoe laces which is a novel idea. Whats more, they normally carry flyers for "23" so you can buy clothes and find out when the next "23" is on at the same time.
- Feather boa fans should seek out Armstrong's in its new home at the end of the Grassmarket. Feel the quality!
- Armstrongs - two of the best second hand clothes stores belong to Armstrongs. Everything from Combat & Adidas to kilts & dinner jackets. Not the cheapest, but certainly the best.
- Waverly market is the best for shops such as Kookai and Morgan. Thee's also a really cool but really posh shop called Zazou there. Basically, the best shops are there!
- Odd One Out - Candlemaker Row. Skater's gear, club gear, nice friendly staff. Can be pricey but there is always stuff on special offer.
- Original Casuals is Edinburgh's most exciting new mens designer clothing boutiques. Find them at 14 South Clerk Street. Founded by a consortium of style obsessed former soccer casuals they stock a fime range of Stone Island, Burberry, Gant, Paul and Shark, Paul Smith, Armani and more. Call them on +44(0)131 662 8506 for details of their latest range.
