• Wilson Noble - a fusion of acoustic/singer songwriter/roots/world music/blues/reggae/folk/spoken word/ranting/new age/political. Seems to be playing everywhere but most likely to be found in the forest on Bristo Square. Hot Mangu - technically an Aberdeen band but they play Whistlebinkies quite regularly. Self professed splat metal! Funky metal music. Think Faith No More crossed with Iron Maiden, Pantera, and early Chili Peppers...ooh&a bit of Blind Melon too!
• Sabai, arrived from Thailand earlier this year and are starting to be seen playing around the city. Female acoustic duo playing unusual cover tunes on violin and guitar. The Stranglers...Nick Cave...Lighthouse family... Plus their original stuff is brilliant and totally different. look out for dates on myspace.com/sabaiband
• 88 Or There Abouts are a great band in Sixth year at Leith Academy
• go and see the fatalists! they play really original funky edgy music! they proper rock die nu metal!
• Tin Rokit are cool
• Mac Polvo play Taditional and Original songs In Gaelic and Scot's, Jacobs Pillow play Traditional and Original Foot stompin' Folk Rock with a few classic covers, Hendreix, Zepplin etal. The Discipline play an entirely original set of ambient Hip Hop.
