Having just found this site, I was amazed at what has happened to my old birthplace. I was born in Emes Road, lived in Manor Road and Frinstead Road before departing for the country bumpkin life in Swindon (now a town of louts, and p*heads)in 1968. I went to Mnor Road as a little un, then Barnehurst School and finally Brook Street Boys School (what an experience THAT was in 1967/68!!!). I hear the site is now much reduced and filled with new housing, etc (as all space gets to be). I now live in Swanage, Dorset as a youth worker, clubbing and tanking it up left firmly in the past. If anyone remembers me and wants to talk about what's been occuring these past 40 years since I left, please feel free to drop me a line. memories dim, but I remember being dinner monitor with Gordon (I want a treble treble massive!), Harry (always with the broken specs) and Dave Keytes, my best mate of the time who used to go to Crayford Speedway with me. Is Erith REALLY crap as some would suggest, or is there still a glimmer of hope?. By the way, the 17 year old who highlighted all the hang outs are much the same as they were for me in the 60's. Emphasis is on the Belvedere, Crayford and Erith localities, and Manor Road is fairly well represented.
