I was posted to RAF Croughton 1964-67 having spent 18 months in Tripoli, Libya. Arriving in the UK was the greatest thing that ever happened to me, then one of my mates at the station decided to introduce me to the English pub. Too good! Ernest George "Plum" and Winnie Warner were running the establishment and it was well beyond belief. I made friends with the Woodgates and the Hardys and beca me one of only three Yank regulars in the place . . . which suited all of us! Anyone remember those wonderful days of Phipps from the wood at 1/11 a pint, a real fire on the grate and walking across the car park to the gents before EU rules destroyed all that? Searching for John thomas Crabbe	by S (Member 10070575) on 8-Dec-2002
I am looking for information of a John Thomas Crabbe from freshwater, Isle of Wight. He was in the Royal Navy on board the HMS Shackleton, around 1959-62? His mother's first name was Joyce. He was friendly with a Bob Mitchell and Geoff Cleary. I believe he now resides in the Northants area. I hope someone remembers him and knows where to find him to pass this information. Reply
