  • Sorry I meant Superman 2!!!
  • Superman 3 was the last film shown at the Embassy, I was the manager at the time. I ran it for 3 years, took over from Peggy Morton who went to run the Savoy, Gosport. Barry Beck and Norman Sellick were the projectionists when I was there. The auditorium was heated by Plenum heaters vented through the intricate plasterwork either side of the stage. I used to run the Saturday morning picture shows.Used to be great to hear the kids cheering the goody and booing the baddies, the films were very old!
  • The last film to be shown at the Embassy cinema Fareham was Superman 2. I know as I used to be a projectionist there and was there for the lat showing.
  • Fareham does have a multi screen cinema. Please correct the erroneous statement.
  • Really nice new cinema... bar upstairs, air-con, fairly large seats, never seems to be that packed so good for a night out, esp, during the week
  • Apollo Cinema is now open with Five screens. Pretty decent to be honest, but with their limited screens they can only show so much - and they seem to be wading in average stuff to be honest. Fairly good value, but like a ghost town - I have watched two films on my todd. Nice to be able to dance around the auditorium if the movie is boring you though!!
  • apollo- they hav eleather seats+ a licenced bar... (i know your amazed)
  • Apollo Cinemas is opening soon
  • New cinema - The Carlton - with 5 screens due to open in the town centre spring 2005. Car parking right in front of it.
  • almost!
  • A new cinema is being built now on the Markey Quay complex, in the town centre, however it is only five screens - and by the looks of it, not particularly big ones at that. But it is certainly an improvement, now that the Gosport cinema has closed.
  • Big cinema thing being built, should be good.
  • A new cinema being constructed in the town centre (Mar 04), due to open later this year.
  • Thank god they're finally building a cinema, but it won't be done for a few years, best bet at the mo is gunwharf on the train
  • UCI at Port Solent is the nearest - until the new Market Car Park development is finished in 2004 - then we'll have one in Fareham (again)
  • none. Until the new complex that I helped choose in the civic offices 15 years ago gets built.
  • The very last film to be shown at *The Embassy* in West street Fareham [ which is now Macdonalds & Argos] was not Superman III, but, wait for it........FLASH GORDON. I took my youngest daughter to see the very last performance on a Saturday afternoon. [She is now grown up and married] The Embassy closed the same day.
  • Nearest is Port solent or Cosham
  • Tragically, Fareham has been devoid of cinematic entertainment since the 1970s. However, recently plans were proposed to build a 22-Screen Multiplex - The biggest cinema IN THE WORLD! Alas, these plans were majorly hacked by our ageing council, so now we can look forward to the 11-Screen Market Quay development - opening soon!
