The Worst Things in Fareham, Hampshire*

You can tell us more about Fareham.

• Some of the most un-friendly people you will ever meet and that's people of all ages. It's a non descript town, no character, plain, boring. Parking charges are expensive, you can park cheaper in Birmingham, which is 20 times bigger and has 100's more shops!
• "If anyone thinks Fareham is a shithole, then they haven't seen jack." Um, sorry, but I visited your town some years ago and that was EXACTLY my impression of it. And I have 'seen jack': I've lived in seven different towns/cities in England (a couple of which were also shitholes) and visited many more. Actually, the only reason I looked Fareham up on this site was that I remembered what a God-awful place I'd thought it was, and I was curious what other people had to say about it.
• Planners that don't really understand what the residents want
• the scum that hangs out on the streets atfer schools out!
• a32 into gosport
• Mouthy townies and kids, people who just glare at you when you're out, people getting punchy when pubs shut. Probably from Gosport. I've lived here forever, and I think Northerners are so much nicer than people here
• not much for teenagers to do
• prague junction...well, slappers and men that think they are gods gift..no thanks...oh and one wrong look, ya get beaten up...not a nice place to go if u wana good time without any hassle...
• Being stuck in Fareham could turn you into an elderly misserable old upper middle class pensioner.
• At great expense the council spent a lot of money on iron work statues, displays, models and a huge "bandstand" to be built into the pedestrianised town centre, all to honour one Henry Cort. Some have a water feature built in and in the slightest wind you should keep clear to avoid a shower. All showed rust within a few weeks and now are rusting badly giving the town centre a look of neglect and decay.

• weird iron figures in fareham highstreet... what the hell are they suppose to be look like stick men.
• the fact that everyone who leaves, always comes back
• Stow estate. Have your passport ready.......
• dirty streets, smelly back alleys,
• Pigs, angry mums
• Traffic traffic traffic - for gods sake do something before everyone starts living in their cars full time.....
• The rest of the Iron Monstrosities - hideous, overpriced, irrelevant...... however in their defence, I have never heard so many people talking about art in Fareham since they went up, and that can only be a good thing. At least they did not put up loads of men on horses or tired looking soldiers.
• the new statues and sculptures that have spikes on to impale small children and cost 5 milloion pounds.the council r gay
• Fareham is just about large enough to hit City status (105000 people), but we still lack many of the basic amenities needed to qualify. A proper Guildhall, Cathedral, and Law Court need to built, preferably in stylish post-neogothic architecture.
• All the teeny-bopper pubs (and associated fights and vomit patches that go with them) in the centre of town - The Bugle, The Crown.
