Pubs in Farnborough, Hampshire*
The place to go for a lazy afternoon, pub quiz or last call
You can tell us more about Farnborough.
Pubs
- Farnborough pubs are rubbish
- It's all about the Elephant and Castle in North Camp
- The Squirrel on Sycamore road is quite nice, big armchairs and the like. The Tumbledown caters for the colleges.
- Crab and Anchor
Monkey Puzzle
- Squirrel
- i lived in farnshite whoops sorry farnborough between 1996-98 and The Swan was the pub i remembered having the most leering cave men who seem to have never seen a woman since time began. However I loved the Décor of caricatures of the local folk...very nice.
Elephant and Castle - a no no. back in the dayz you would walk in there and everyone and everything (including the pictures on the wall) would look at you and there would be a deadly silence as you walk to the bar to order a drink.
The squrriel - yeah maan i am feeling this one. A welcoming pub for all walks of life
The Quays - good for seeing all sorts of crazy young people from the girls with the 80s permed hair to boy racers
- apparently tumbley and adg r good
- ALL rather Grebo and full of middle aged men trying to hit on each others daughters.
- the thatched cottage all the way!! Go there on a sunday night, and apart from all the middle aged divorcees, who all have mullets, you'll be treated to the sunday night quiz, hosted by the famous ONE-EYED quiz master. It is literally the highlight of the week and you could win up to £15!!! (if you go any other night watch out for the bearded lady who works behind the food bar).
- i go to the northcamp in northcamp takes ages to get served though and takes ages to get a pool table but its ok there.
- rec bar,
- the monkey puzzle in southwood
- TUMBLEDOWN! no pikeys please.
- Farnborough, Hampshire. I have lived in Farnborough most of my life and there are many small pubs, but no real good ones. No big names all grotty quiz night old men tips, why hasnt any big names opened up any? You hve to go to Camberley, Fleet, Farnham or seedy Aldershot (and get your head kicked in) to have some fun, why?
- Prince of Wales is the place to go, popular with all.....just been voted North Hants pub of the year...lots of real ales on offer...try it
- Zaffrons Wine Bar goes off.
- The Quays at Mytchett really is the only destination - especially in the summer.
- Tumbledown Dick has mixed clientele - suits on weekday daytime, dirty sixth formers at weekends, and a few seasoned drunkards.
Prince of Wales has won awards, and is nice, but pricey.
- Up Top Hill, Prince Charles, Hame and Blackbird
- Very little choice- Tumbledown (ooh, look, My trousers are baggier than yours and I have even more piercings!). The Swan (nice real ale and good for a snooze).
- The Crab and Anchor in southwood has its own pair of resident wankers in the form of Liam (the ex owner) Sad old Irish twat with a speech impediment, and his alcoholic hanger on Johnny. The bloke that everyone wants to punch coz hes so irritating and would try it on with anything remotely resembling female to distract attention from the fact him and the irish one are quite close. If you fancy an all night session its also worth a visit. Best time to go is about 2am when the staff (none of which have work permits or lives) have all shoved enough drugs up their noses to to keep hm customs and excise happy for a year.
- The Alexandra (named after Edward VII's Queen) on Victoria Road underwent a refurbishment some years ago and has a delightful Edwardian interior, friendly patrons and iconic landlady. The Tumbledown Dick is THE youth public house of choice, although the small bar now lacks the elegent appeal of some years ago. The Plough & Horses on the Fleet Road is always busy with a good crowd of smart hipsters, the only drawback is the decided lack of a jukebox. The Snow Goose is shabby but attracts a loyal core of customers.
- The Ham and Blackbird, aka spam and fatbird, aka blam and hackbird, aka gammon and no birds is the Fboro Massives local.
- blam
- the ham and blackbird, or local names spam n fatbird, blam and the like. there are other pubs but this is the one for skateboarders, dj's, mc's, bmxers..... the goths and metlaz should go to the tumble down dick.
- Thatched Cottage is the place. Sexy barmaids reasonable beer....but the locals are ugly...
- Tumbledown Dick (why drink anywhere else, at least the teenagers are scared enough of the dealers to avoid this place ... enjoy!)
- The New Inn is really cool...football and pub quiz every Tuesday, pool tables, friendly staff. Loadsa fun. Good fun for booze up with mates
- Tumbledown Dick is a damn fine establishment, but at present the Ham and Blackbird (aka Blam and Hackbird, aka Spam and Fatbird) seems to be the place to go
- The ham and blackbird always has a deal on which changes every mounth but they are always good. Not very good too pull though.
- Some of the pubs near North Camp station can turn very nasty now and then, and the bar staff are arrogant. The one right next to the station is OK, though.
- The Quays (not strictly Farnborough, but close enough)
Also Fleet, Camberley and Guildford are within driving distance and pretty good.
Rumors of a new Weatherspoons to be opened.
- Crab & Anchor - fab food. Southwood golf club. Forresters.Cody
- The best is the Tumbledown Dick for a good mixture of people during the day and youth during the evening. Very friendly bar staff. Not now run by the bores who ran it for a while.
The second best is the Thatched Cottage on Prospect Road. Unfortunately small, but very good atmosphere. Landlord Dean very friendly.
- the imperial arms and prince of wales near farnborough north station are both freehouses famous for miles around - well a few anyway!
- Theres a nice little pub along prospect road called the Thatched Cottage....but the again the only reason its nice is because they have got a 6ft blond barmaid just in her twenties......but if u r lonely and desperate and in need of something to do on a saturday night pop along here and have a look at the barmaid.
- Tumbledown Dick
- Monkey Puzzle, near Southwood Golf Course. Big garden, loads of ales on draught and nice food.
- Old Courthouse. Becks and Carling Premier on draught. Nice one.
- Best pub at the moment is The Quays (in Mytchett really). Other good ones are The Ham & Blackbird and The Mead.
- The North Camp in North Camp.
- The Prince Of Wales by Farnbourgh North Station is definately the top pub in the town
- The Tumbledown Dick is now just about acceptable. Unfortunately the current landlord's family tried to impose some sort of restriction on the type of clientele. Now it's just a pale imitation of it's former self.
- Tumbledown is under new mangagent, all people barred for having fun or living in Aldershot are now welcomed
