Cheap Food in Felixstowe, Suffolk*

Corner eateries, quick bites and the local chippy

You can tell us more about Felixstowe.

Cheap Food
  • Stay away from fures fish bar outside charlie mannings coz the food will kill you, the place is dirty and the food is a bag of shit, i know i've worked there.
  • fnrfm sr
  • just got subway
  • Golden Panda ,China suite aren,t bad with their buffet selection .Bodrum ,BBQ house and Perfect Kebab aren,t bad aftyer a few drinks .
  • B.B.Q House XD The only kebab house that makes an effort to provide vegetarian options, bless'em. I wonder how many veggie's they serve a year..?
  • Siam Orchid on Bent Hill is just great for Thai food. You get lots on your plate and the price is reasonable. Staff are very nice and polite (a change these days). Tyr the weeping Tiger steak it it just great.
  • You should try the Siam Orchid on Bent Hill. Fab food and good service. The best i have been to. Try it you wont be disapointed.
  • The Office, 30 Orwell Road - is a lovely new restaurant in Felixstowe (they have a web site - "theofficewinebar.co.uk"). Wonderful food, with a friendly atmosphere. Non-smoking - a boon! Won't disappoint. We had a lovely evening (my sister said the lunch menu is equally tasty), and they were very welcoming to the kids in our party - brilliant. Open on Christmas Day too.....mad things.
  • Siam orchid on bent hill is just fantastic place to eat. Great food and service the waitress is fantastic and the guy who owns it is always there to help you. We have been there many times and seen some of the local East Anglia clebs eating there. If they are going there it must be good. Try it.
  • Do try The Continental Pizza & Pasta - run by Ahmed. He does excellent pizza and pasta (in spite of his name), the place is super-friendly and very reasonably-priced. No-smoking - but if you're dying for a fag you can just step outside the door for 5 minutes quite easily. Try the Cajun Calzone or the Continental Special Pizza on Dena's recommendation.
  • The Sherebangla is now The Blue Naan and is the best Indian restaurant for miles around.
  • ciaro is the best, orwell chip shop frequented when i was at school, bounty is the best chip shop in town
  • McDonalds Drive Thru Nr seafront, Wimpy, Bugattis and the best of all Bar B Q House Nr Leisure centre
  • Spa Pavillion! Woo Yeah!
  • Felixstowe has an amazing array of piss poor chip shops. Without exception they are all awful. I avoid them like the plague. I advise you do the same.
  • cornelians, blue naan (formally sagar spice, v swanky) china garden (formaly bonds) mayflower (has changed it name but can't remember what to) chicken place where wheatly's used to be, bodrums...blugh
  • Chinoz.com Restaurant on Felixstowe Seafront: "Authentic Mediterranean flavours mingle with Middle Eastern ingredients to achieve magical results" Suffolk Business Magazine - May 2003
  • The Sherbangla was once good, became mediocre, changed to become the "Sagor Spice", had a fire, now reopened as the "Blue Naan" - why their naan is blue I don't know and I'm not really tempted to find out. Mrs Simpsons on the seafront near Cobbolds Point is good for light, leisurely lunches. The Alex, also on the seafront, does good food in a nice atmosphere and outlook but a little more pricey than the average.
  • The Alex: On a Sunday,a long lunch overlooking the sea, with good company.Superb Carlions on Hamilton Rd. A chef who is passionate about his cooking. The Bombay Nite in Walton High St. It is one of the best restaurants I have every eaten in. The Victoria Inn: The fish and chips are superb
  • .Bodrum grill open till 5am at present although this could be cut back to 1am soon. .Ordance chippie restaurant open till 9pm ,takeaway open till late.
  • the food is good
  • Bountys fish chip shop in high road west is proabley the best chippie in felixstowe [brillant cod ].Sometimes in summer you can eat your meal outside on tables provided by bounty [unique to Felixstowe chippie,s]. Bugattis further up high road west isn,t bad neither is ordance chip shop opposite the hotel of the same name at the Garrison lane /Langer road roundabout. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES GO IN THE CHIPPIE IN ORWELL ROAD[DOESN,T HAVE A PROPER NAME] THE FOOD IS CRAP AND EXPENSIVE WHILE ALL THE STAFF ARE ALL OVER 60.
  • Golden Panda - an excellent eat-in Chinese restaurant on Orwell Road. Sagor Spice - an eat-in Indian, good value, especially on Friday nights - Happy Hour means dishes are buy one get one free. Bella Roma - An Italian restauant. Apparently a new Thai Restaurant is going to open on Bent Hill - this is too exciting! Most of the take-aways are of an average standard - no better or worse than the rest of the country.
  • Bodrum make the best chicken kebabs i've ever tasted!!
  • Check out the El Sombrero - Good food, not bas prices - some autentic Spanish - well as authentic as you can get not in Spain!
  • wimpy and bumpers
  • Jesters Bistro within the Fludyers Arms Hotel serves excellent food. Nice place.
  • CORNELIAN (Upstairs at Bonnet's, Hamilton Road) This is a new restaurant I discovered on holiday - a wonderful find and great asset to Felixstowe. A terrific menu and superb food at competitive prices. Great choices for vegetarians too. What more can you ask for?
  • Try Franklins, by the roundabout in Langer Road. Sunday lunch for £5 (2 courses). Superb food that will make you spend more. My Sunday lunch when to three courses, a bottle of wine, cups of coffee - so it was £30 for two, but it must be the best place for really good food in an otherwise disenfranchised town. Go for it, they need your money
  • Franklins Brasserie very good. Pity they moved to a round about, strange that...
  • Max's Cairo Kebabs has sadly gone but is now under new management. It still does great food, and they now deliver.
  • We seem to be lacking the Ritz.......but any day now.
  • Cairo kebabs being a life-saver. Forget the ones on the sea-front, you should see the state of the people who work in them.
  • cozy cafe, Manning road, reasonable food at family prices.
  • Lee On chippy on Wadgate road - does it still sell the Big R burger - two of those and you stuffed like a very stuffed thing after being stuffed a little more
  • Diana Barnard Catering, has employed half of Felixstowe at some point, new golden boy is Noddy. Great food, great woman, great stuff!
  • Sorry guys - The Sherebangla deceased ages ago - Now known as Sagor Spice - Gaudy exterior - I've never dared try the food!!
  • macdonalds drive thru place, lee-ons take away, magic wok, golden panda, cheungs
  • The Victoria down at the Ferry must be the best place for a pub meal in town. And a nice location for a walk afterwards along the sea front. Or alternatively if you like Fish and Chips try the Ferry Cafe (if you don't mind formica tables and being served by old ladies).
  • All the major food groups on offer here, plus all the usual contaminants: Botulism, E-Coli, Legoinnaires disease, Salmonella.........
  • Avoid those cafes to which the rats bring packed lunches.
  • Bumpers in the High Street has great jacket potatoes and there's a good chip shop by the Methodist church.
  • I feel that the Sherebangla curry house deserves a mention as the least busy restaurant in the universe, despite having been frequented by Benny Hill (proof of this is in the window).
  • The fish & chip shop (Muddocks) is, as someone else said, very good - traditional seaside grub! Also, try Nuts & Honey on Bent Hill (near the seafront) - delicious roast dinners at a good price. And look out for the painted flowers on the walls.
