- The Fludyers Arms does even better food now with an International menu in the bar and a Fresh Fish restaurant recently opened in the bistro (July 2004).
- grovesner, what have they done to it? used to be a nice old mans pub but now is purple why?
- The grosvenor during the mid nineties.....if you were 14, 15 or 16 you were probably there drinking newcastle brown and trying to impress the legal drinkers...god knows why....wierd bunch of greebos that they were.....guilty all the same!
The Buregate.....Corporal Coffey(god rest his soul), silver, big colin, odd-job, space cadet, kenny and sue, brian the know it all, numb-nuts, wolfie, big steve, big john
- the Grosvenor is the best place in the world. ever. ever ever ever. Its home.
- grovesner....has lost its soul since thay decorated it looks like a wheather spoons, but so many fond meomories...also the demise of bonds which was v sad although the new chinease has a really nice bar and chinease bar snacks. the alex which is very popular, when will they get a late licence? berguracs, been there once, very small
- the grosvener, many a happy drunken hour spent in that place
- alex maybe??
- the bercuracs is the best
- Felixstowes best pub has to be the 'old millers' which is oppostite the lesiure centre in undercliffe road west .This is a big spacious pub with excellent meals ,good beer and serves a respectable crowd. That is more than can be said for the the grovener which is really olny for those in the 18-30 age group looking to get pissed and laid.
Some of the pubs well away from the town centre are good .At the ferry the 'ferry boat Inn' is an historic pub going back hundreds of years with pleantley of car parking space .Its near rival the'victoria' is much more posher andd serves excellent meals.Out at cavendish park the'owl and the pusseycat' is a lively but safe and friendley pub.
- Back in the 80's a group of us, self-titled "the Horheads had a good time getting pissed on cider and Tenant's at the Hotel DeNovo pub. Charles and Helga served good nosh and the dockies and tuggies were first rate blokes.
- Shag and I once did every pub in Felixstowe/Ferry/Docks/Walton in a night. In 1968 I think that was 23. Still recovering.
- Bergeracs, just off Sea Road is great! - A chilled wine bar atmosphere, they serve the infamous Jungle Juice (14% evil)... now in lemon flavour as well, and alcoholic milkshakes. Mr Bergerac even lets you play your very own Mike Reid (AKA Frank Butcher) CD... if he likes you.
- The Grosvenor do nice food but it needs a face lift
- owl and pussycatis cool
- Harlequins Sports Bar within the Fludyer Arms Hotel is great, Tasty Barbeques in the Summer, live music events too.
- I would love to go back one day to the Cork!!! A great Pub. Besides the drinks, I would kill for some cheese chips!!!
- THE Felixstowe wine bar, run by Alan Weight, THE OLD DOG...Still pulls the birds..
- Well, the Felix went a few months back to make way for a new posh place which i have never set foot. the grosvenor has shut for a complete refit as well.
- The Owl and Pussy Cat for the Freight Forwarding, Shipping and Haulage crowd, all bottled beer and identity tags, tattoo's and sovereign rings. The Grosvenor for drunken dockers, taxi drivers and the unemployed. The Ferryboat Inn and Victoria for the sailing set, who appear to be inextricably linked to the Felixstowe God Squad.
- The Grosvenor was crap, is crap and will always be crap - but we were all young and again you could pull.
Hoot and Muff was good until they removed MY leather sofa and started serving Hungry Horse meals - who cares if the horse is hungry, mine's a pint of Abbots
- The White Horse in Church Road, Old Fx. Very good food.
The Grange (formerly Ordnance) also good and popular.
- owl and the pussycat, fludyers
- the tap and spile is now called the half moon, its original name since 1792 and it serves the best pint in town, no food no music no fruit machine. Patrick is the bow tied landlord
- The Victoria is best for a pint of Adnams and just across the way try the Ferry Boat Inn for a pint of Tolly's out of a cask.
- British Legion
- I'm sorry, but The Grosvenor deserves a mention. It may have crap decor and a few resident nutters, but where else has such a fine selection of games, Elvis tracks on the jukebox and young people having fun
- The Waverly is a quality pub which arguably serves the best pint of Boddingtons in south east England and it's just round the corner from the Metropolis.
- The Fludyers Arms does good nosh.
- The Cork (downstairs from Metropolis) is a good pub.
- The Tap & Spile on Walton High Street opposite Roger Miller Cycles is an excellent pub for strong real ales that make you fall over.
- What the f*ck IS a fludyer anyway?
- If you must go to Felixstowe, go to the Cork bar. Its really worth the time, Dan and Graham are top blokes (owners) and the beer is first rate.
