Clubs (Dance Music) and Music Bars
  • Jaxx- not as bad as most people make out, but not that great. For instance, the bouncers Don't carry wooden sticks to beat you with, and I've never seen a ''puke-stained wall outside''. Or inside. Jaxx is good for a laugh if you have some mates with you, but the girls are cautious and the guys try too hard. It's a lot better know that they've had a refit, with two different rooms and loads of couches. Drinks can be slightly pricy at £3.00 on a Saturday, but if you're drunk you won't notice. All in all a good laugh, as long as you don't go too often.
  • From what im hearing on this page so far. Jaxx would be a much better place if your visit was a one of occurrence! the fundamental reason to go to a club like JAXX is to leave your ego at the front door and feel an empathy with everyone, your breed of clubbing egotistical snobs need to re-evaluate why you bother to go out in the first place. and then you may realize that your not that much different from these 'checked shirt tossers' that you so much despise!
  • Jaxx... its not that bad if ur up for a laugh but i wouldnt recomend going there often and preferably only when ppl are back from uni on holidays. And the kebaby shop aint that bad... try to avoid the mayonaise though.
  • Jaxx is very open to new ideas, if you think of something you reckon would work ask for an ideas form. There kept in the office, I know I used to work there.
  • Jaxx sucks.
  • Jaxx is alright for the one off visit. Its best to try to queue at 10.30 before the queue gets big and it gets more expensive after 11. Worth taking the half price admisssion tickets at the end of the night. Younger crowds on thursdays and fridays. For memorable nights ask at the DJ booth for your photo to be taken which you can see on applebelly.com and you may spot your pic on the posters outside too. Lots of mingers tho.
  • refer to music shops
  • Jaxx nightclub is now the only nightclub in Fleet since Shotts was burnt to the ground. Thursday night is the cheap night as it is student night (when I say students I mean college kids not university undergraduates!)with loads of drinks on special offer. Friday night is serious music night with all sorts of proper music i.e. RnB Garage etc., Saturday night is a mixture of different music with the obligatory cheesy half hour segment. The quality of women there is always high though bear in mind this is Fleet so they can be quite picky so you cant just go up to them in a drunken mess and hope that they are desperate. People there are generally ok though you do get the odd checked shirt tossers trying to be macho. Watch out if you are one of those checked shirt boys as the bouncers at Jaxx are very touchy sensitive individuals. The worst thing about Jaxx is the rip off price of £7.00 to get in on a Friday and Saturday. Being in Fleet they have a captive market and after 11pm there is nowherelse to go and drink; Roll on a change in licensing hours! Try and arrive before 10.30 as it is a reduced rate. In summary Jaxx is an ok to place to carry on drinking but it is overpriced the music is average and it is not that big. Also it is a joke the length of time you sometimes have to wait to get in it is not worth that. There is a bus to Utopia in Reading where the music is better, it is bigger and the women are easier which runs from outside the Hogshead pub. There is also no need to queue when you get there. That may be a better option if you really like your clubbing. Alternatively London is not that far away....
  • Jacks
  • go underneath waitrose
  • Jaxx - Drinks expensive, music S club, opens at ten and gets busy by Christmas. If you've ever been to fancy dress st.Trinians party you'll have good idea of what the female clientele look like during their day job. Do not even think about going if its raining cos you'll queue for an hour against the puke stained walls. Blokes are likely to pull inside the club, and guarenteed to meet up the boyfriend outside. If given the choice between a night here and being bitten by a funnelweb spider whilst sitting on the kazi, keep in mind that in the last 10 minutes of your life your genitals will reach 5 times their normal size!
  • Jaxx what a poor excuse for a club, allthough in its old days as the warehouse it was not to bad. But ... it depends its full of people attempting to pull, but mainly failing if not falling.
  • KDS Line dancing classes in Fleet and Basingstoke, Hampshire. Visit www.dancingboots.co.uk for more information.
  • Good clubs if you like bovine exchanges, know what I mean.
  • well, there is now only one 'club' in Fleet - "Jaxx" (formerly "the Cube", formerly "The Warehouse"). This is predominantly cheese to the highest degree, but can be quite amusing. Bouncers are armed with big wooden sticks and don't take kindly to peeps passing out on the dancefloor minutes after getting in (personal experience). Fridays & Saturdays are mainly cheesy pop "Ibiza anthems" and "Garage Classics"...Thursdays are student nights, so the music gets slightly more diverse (but not much). There used to be another club called "Shotts" (previously "Frames" and "BT's") which is a mile out of town and now has been burnt down.
  • JAXX - over 18's generally, and some nights are DEFINATELY over 18, if you get my meaning...
