• I have just read about the 'no go area' in Fordingbridge that is the car park. Apparently, after dark, this is frequented by druggies and worse and is to be avoided at all costs. I live in very near to this car park and park my car there, I often go to the car after dark and have never encountered anybody of the type described. There is, occasionally, a small group of young people in a shelter, being a bit noisy but they are at the far side of a car park away from the houses. There is also a group of young people around Tesco. Maybe they specialize in getting young girls under 15 pregnant but, in the absence of evidence, I cannot confirm or deny this. In the late evening I sometimes park the car near them, or walk up the High St. and go to Tesco, So far,I have not felt the need to take a bodyguard. The correspondent who wrote this description does not seem to have had much experience of real social problems.
• Hook up spots in fordingbridge seems to be changing, its not so much at the car park, as the people that did hook up their have grown up now, just like some of the people who complain about them, if they dont like the problems do somthing about it! dont just leave little messages on the internet! In the summer the rec is a good place, but most people head off to Salisbury
• All you locals who think there are problems in Fordingbridge Try getting off you inbred asses and move to somwhere else, and then you will see real problems, I.E Liverpool, Manchester, London, All you people have to realise that its not just a retirement village, there are other people than yourslefs if you dont like it, its time you grew up because you act more childish than the kids of the town. Try using your so called knowledge I.E try speaking to the young people instead of stereotyping them, there are alot of good kids in this town, but you just paint them all with the same brush.
• Long Johns. Rubbish gravel carpark by The Rec where allsorts, Townies, Grungies and trendies with access to joy riding facilities gas themselves in thier cars with pot,weed or crap bought from a small house near elliots. Dare I mention Steven Berry, c***.
• There is now a small tin gazebo as a shelter for misguided youths. Youd be misguided if you thought it was worth the money.
• don't go anywhere after dark, there are too many dickheads about who will shout such intellectual gems as "oi oi, savaloy" at you and try and nick your stuff. assuming they're not busy having sex with their own cousins.
• This should be known as places to avoid or muppets area.
• If you visit Fordingbridge, don't go to the carpark at night. In fact, stay at home completely. Drugged up teenagers hang around setting fire to phone boxes and putting fireworks through people's letterboxes. The police are too scared to do anything, and the council and the headmistress of the local school still won't admit that there is a drug problem here. Some of the locals are kind and think that the kids need something to do in the evenings and they set up clubs to go to, but the kids just vandalise everything. They aren't bored, they're just not very nice.
• Oh Gawd..too many to mention..U got the wine cellar, round the public toilets at roundhill, the rec, outside the chippy, the little parc down by the river ..Townies rule the roost apparently!
• Loads of places...The most popular are the ones behind the chemist on the bencehes but i refuse to call them the popular crowd..they are the rudest group of unsocial miscreants..They are prone to drug taking and getting girls below the age of 15 pregnant!! Also the infamous "Park"..Not to be mistaken for the Rec. The park is just down by Beacon Court. Other places include outside the Fish and Chip shop on the hig hstreet and down by the Wine Cellar
• as uve said the druggies hang in the car park waiting for a local dealer to turn up.townies hang in the park where they can underage drink.otherwise there is shit all places to hang meet with your mates at all.
• Used to be outside the Off Licence The Wine Cellar until "Mandy" the ex postie took over, but she's takes no nonsense and the area is now respectable
• The telephone boxes behind the chemists just outside the carpark is where the 'in' crowd hang out. The Carpark is where the Druggies hang out and the others meet at the Park.
