Hi
Why not make a new resolution to change your life in 2009. I am looking for people who have experience in the Financial Services, Utilities or Sales Industries. I can offer a good opportunity for those who are prepared to put in effort on a part-time basis with a Footsie 250 Plc company to earn a regular residual income for life.

I am Jane McClure the granddaughter of Elsie Wells formerly Bryant married to Samuel Wells. From the stories I remember from my father, Wilfred John Wells and his sister Olive Joan, Elsie was one of a very large family - 21? I am currently living in Cape Town South Africa, and so are my older brother and sister Peter and Cathy. I visited Fordingbridge in 1986 and stayed with my dads cousin and her husband, and visited my grandmothers sister Annie? My father had two daughters in England in the 1940's - and immigrated to South Africa after fighting in the British Army in WW2 and the Mau Mau in Kenya. He arrived here in the early 1950's. ... more >>

Hi Jennifer. Seems we are related. My Dad's mum was Elsie Bryant. Indeed one of the 21. Dad left UK after the war went to Kenya and then settled in South Africa. He never went back to England after that although by his accent he could have been a news reader for ITV or BBC. I visted Fordingbridge in 1979 and saved some soil from the local common to talk back to Dad. When I gave it to him he eat it and cried. Would dearly love to know more if you can find out. He was married before he married my Mum and I know he had two daughters Jackie and Maureen - would love to touch base with them. Can you help ? ... more >>

I grew up in Clapham, South London. My best friend was Leonie Mitaux, who had a brother Paul. The family left London in the late 1950s and were last heard of in Fordingbridge. Leonie and Paul would have been at senior school in the area in about 1962. Does anyone know where they are now?

I have no idea who you are - perhaps you would be kind enough to identify yourself. It is really sick to put comments such as this on here. Susan was a really nice girl and I don't even remember anything about her dad. I hope she is as disgusted with your comment as I am!

Well, I feel a lot better now that I have established that you make a habit of this sick sort of 'communication! Have just read comments you have sent to numerous others - no doubt you know none of them, just like you don't know me. You are disgusting you poor sad person. Get a life - we can do without people like you on this site.

Fordingbridge is a good place to live, low crime rate, easy access to many larger towns, right on the edge of the new forest. Fordingbridge Infant and Junior schools very good. They also feed into an excellent secondary school the Burgate School and six form. Check out their web sites. The Recreation ground has had a major revamp new skate park and plenty of children’s play equipment. Many clubs for youngsters to attend.
All round pretty good place to live. ... more >>

thanks for the infor steve, but can you tell about the teenager probs that others have mentioned here.
We do really like the sound of the area and hopefully all will go well and we'll be there this time next year :)

About three years ago we had youth problems in town but since then I have got the skatepark built, one youth shelter and another about to be installed, and a football kick wall. Also looking to provided film shows and access to a local swimming pool which was the favourite in a survey carried out at the local school.
Now the young people have something to do problems have dramatically reduced.
You will always get some problems but we have a ‘beat bobby’ who deals with these minorities.
If you are around, there is a skate fest on the 23rd July see events guide. ... more >>

Hi,
Fordingbridge sounds ideal for us.
Only prob now is woman who was interested in our place now doesn't want to move from the area as hubby has just been promoted - she didnt tell me but saw her advertising elsewhere :(
So if anybody here knows of anyone who wants to do a council exchange to cornwall early next summer PLEASE let me know and hopefully we'll try to arrange something. Need a minimum of a 2 bed as we have 2 kids - 3 would be ideal but 2's ok too :)
Thanks for all the info and being helpful ... more >>

Hmmm. Seems like you took my advice and visited your doctor Moscowman. You don’t seem to have this complex that everyone is moaning about something. Now, all you have to do is get this fixation with houses cured and you’ll be fine.

I have noticed that anti social behavior is a big problem in Fordingbridge.
You have just had a skate park built which is a good start but no skate shops (durrrr..)
These days kids are into hip hop, graffiti, rock music skating. Pretty much anything creative really.
If anyone would like to see an event come to Fordingbridge that captures all that kids into plus adults then please send me an email on what it is you would like in a fun, insparational, creative day out. ... more >>
