Webb who served with the Royal Army Ordnance Corps and in 1945-6 was Officer commanding 111 Command A.D at Oxted in Surrey he had the rank of Major. I�ve heard some fantastic news today for anyone who remembers and loves the old pirate radio stations! Radio London (which was shut down in 1968 by the government, if you don�t already know), is coming back!! And, from what I can gather they have worked out a way to broadcast outside the UK (legally), so hopefully this time they will be staying! They have got a launch party (don�t think it� s open to the public but I am sure you can still go along and see people) in Frinton (Essex). It starts about 1pm in a studio but goes on to a boat in Harwich harbour at 2pm. So far Cliff Richard is down as opening the station, and I have heard that the Cheeky Girls are going to be there as well. Been a few times. Last time was April this year when I was filming up the main street with my camcorder. To my suprise an African refugee tried to protest about me doing that as this sponger thought that I was actually interested in filming her.
