    I lived in Amsterdam until 2003 worked for Time Warner have now moved back to England and have a guest house called Martins in Blackpool

My mother's best friend, Val Jones lived at 30 Lyme Cross Road Huyton until 1950 when she emigrated to New Zealand and married another immigrant. The town like so many these days is suffering from under achievement and has been for many years, I recall the place when it was thriving, Marshalls buzzer every week day calling the faithful into work, and letting the housewives know the husband was leaving for home, happy times living in the Nissan huts alongisde Lea road station, sadly torn down to make way for a builders centre, The ever prese... more >>

    Hi James,I just stumbled across your touching memories for I too remember them well. I lived in Gainsborough from 1950-80 before leaving for Canada. (pushed out by Maggie Thatcher :-)My memories are endless and Gainsborough will remain in my mind forever.

I am researching my Family history and would be most grateful for any help you can give me
My ancesters came from Misterton and I think workedfor the Poultney/Pultney family in the 1600

then they moved to South Kilworth and then to Dunton Bassett

The names are HIPWELL, MOORE, ASHBY, GOULBY have you seen a grave stone with any of these names if so could you let me know the details I would be most grateful
