My mother's best friend, Val Jones lived at 30 Lyme Cross Road Huyton until 1950 when she emigrated to New Zealand and married another immigrant. My mother lost touch with Val and I have tried, on and off, for almost 30 years to make contact with her. Val had two younger brothers, Clifford and Kenneth. She would have turned 79 in April 2007. If anybody can put me in touch with Val or any of he r family/friends I would be very grateful. The town like so many these days is suffering from under achievement and has been for many years, I recall the place when it was thriving, Marshalls buzzer every week day calling the faithful into work, and letting the housewives know the husband was leaving for home, happy times living in the Nissan huts alongisde Lea road station, sadly torn down to make way for a builders centre, The ever prese nt cloud of smoke from Sadies fag in the station buffet and later years, sitting on Lea road taking bets on how how fast the old folks could hand crank those carts of theirs and who would win the race too the nearest Boozer, sliding down the grass slopes alongside Middlefield land or laying back listning too nightingales while wondering what on eart that concrete box on legs up there had once been erected for, we finally settled on a 'Lookout post for Martian invaders' Dan Dare rules OK!, And then it all changed, guess we grew up and took or fond memories of the town too the four corners of the globe, I really missed you Patricia. This condition ? diabetic ketoacidosis ? causes additional symptoms: vomiting, stomach pain, rapid breathing, increased pulse rate, sleepinessrred vision, Without treatment, diabetic ketoacidosis can lead to coma or death Hypoglycaemia An inadequate amount of blood glucose ? from either not eating enough or from taking too much insulin ? results in hypoglycaemia. This can cause symptoms of faintness, sweating and a pounding heart, and if not treated by eating or drinking something sugary, can lead to collapse and coma. People with diabetes will probably experience a "hypo", or near-hypo, from time to time, and tend to make sure they always have some sugary food or glucose tablets at close hand to control it. In the event of a "Hypo" GIVE SUGARY Drink Followed with Food containing CARBOHYDRATE such as two Biscuits.DO NOT give drink if the person is unconscious call an ambulance. ... more >> Reply
