- Kim Marsh used to live on Kinross Avenue. She spend a few years here when she was a kid and attended Garswood Primary

- Ian Gregson lived on Garswood Rd from 1962 - 1981. He went on to compete in the 1984 and 1988 Paralympics and various other events for amputee athletes. In 1978 Ian lost his leg in a railway accident whilst on his lunch hour at Byrchall HS. He is also rumoured to be running in elections where he lives now, which is Vancouver, BC, Canada [a long way from Garswood}
- Howard Marks once spent a year lying low in the sleepy village back in the 70's when things where getting a bit heated in his business ventures.
