  • Jack Hughes? You mean Jack Hues, really Jerry Ryder, and father of the actor Jack Ryder who was married to Kym Marsh of Coronation Street. David Bowie might not have lived in Twydall, but he often stayed there.
  • Bowie didn't live in Twydal for sure, but he did play once in the Royal Engineer ... er ... before he was quite so famous. I know because Maureen (the model) who lived just around the corner had his autograph. I have seen it, it was real and he signed it as David Jones. Please no more Bowie lived in Twydal.
  • William Clift (Bill) and 'Jack' Hughes songwriters. You may know Jack from Huang Chung (Dancehall Days and many more). Sorry Bill forgot the name of your 'chart topping' group but saw you on Top of the Pops (and Madness copied you). Both were outstanding (?) students at Gillingham Technical High School for Boys (now Rainham Mark Grammar). Bill has the most beautiful sister who is famous ..... hallo Jack ... missed you for years, how is the Strand now? Also, 'BAN THE MIND READER', cannot believe that is still around after all these years. The person who originated this is still unknown as is the meaning behind the message. Good that some of you are keeping the mystery.
