Pubs
- Swedish pear cider, Kopparberg,in Wetherspoons - devine!
- Seahorse, Broadsands Drive near Stokes Bay. Good beer, cheerful & helpful staff, good food with real hand cut chips NOT out of a freezer bag!
- the north star
- Spoons, just as a warm up to emmas ;-)
- Village Home (the Groan) in Alverstoke. The New Camden on Forton Road is the friendliest pub I've ever been to. The Alverbank Hotel on Stokes Bay which sometimes has live music.
- Weatherspoons, ok? Best pub is the VILLAGE HOME in Alverstoke village.
- The White Hart (friendly ladies, loud music, regular contretemps on a Friday and Saturday); The Royal Arms (cheapish, music, beer garden, loads of seats, friendly enough); The Fox (hidden away on the estate somewhere); The Eagle (hidden away down King's Road somewhere); Nelsons (friendly ladies, close proximity to Emma's nightclub, regular haunt of Her Majesty's Navy personnel); The George and Dragon (fresh-faced clientelle (they do ask for ID though), loads of pool tables, usually some flashy-light disco, close proximity to the local nick and bus station); The Castle (pricey, good selection of beers for the real ale buffs); The Clarence Club (own brewery on premises, good beer, music is quieter than the other pubs in town, loads of seats, proper pork scratchings!)
- The Village Home in Alverstoke
- Belle Vue in Lee on Solent - Great Karaokes at one point!!
- The wonderful White Hart on Stoke Road. Newly revamped as a "SHOTS" pub. Always lively, better than most of them. Good pool tables. Big sceen excellent for footy.
G+D (George and Dragon). Newly refurbed. Don't expect to get served quickly.
Rammed every weekend.
The Eagle - Elmhurst Road. Quiet corner pub, full of locals. Very friendly though.
The Rose and Crown - Rough and full of druggies. Avoid.
Millenium / Corn Exchange - Dodgy decor upstairs thanks to the refit. Looks like a Victorian whorehouse with a trendy bar at the end (!). Downstairs is traditional pub.
- Gipsy Queen, Whitworth Road - Landlord serves a mean Guiness.
- Too numerous to mention. A particular favorite is the Clarence Tavern.
- The Three Tuns
Jack in the bush
Old House at home
White hart
