Arts, crafts and such
- There is a great wee shop in Kempock Street called Bright Star Gifts that sells so many different things, their cards are beautiful and not as expensive as other shops in the area. I go there whenever I have a present to get.
- Ignore the previous comment about Original Artists please, Id so go and decide for yourself. Its actually a lovely little shop and its NOT the same as AU NATURAL! It has some gorgeous jewellery that is hard to get elsewhere which is designed by talented jewellery artists from around the world...good place to go if you want a gift that is a little bit different and they make a lovely job of wrapping it too. A sophistocated, lovely little shop.
- A few good gift shops but don't go to Original Artists. Old fashioned and very over priced. Nothing but candlebras and standard lamps! If thats your thing go to Au Nataurale in Greenock, same stuff, much cheaper!
- There is a great wee gift shop on Kempock Street called Bright Star Gifts. Guaranteed to have what you're looking for and not bad prices too. They also sell some local art as well. Well worth a visit.
- New one just opened run by the old fogey John Mc Moreland who used to be an electrician, that never had any stock but could always quote "Get it for You"
- Aulds the Bakers...works of art ....pineapple cakes, strawberry tarts and the only proper example of a fresh cream slice in the world.
- Original Artists is fab, go there, right.
- that wee bird that wurks in ORIGINAL ARTISTS is quite tasty....
- The one in Kempock Street, which is quite nifty for the towns size!
- Magpies nest very quaint......ok if you like that sort of thing
- Local Libraries usually have an exhibition of some sort on.
The Grenock Museum is worth a look around, an afternoon at least.
There is some interesting local Architecture. The Custom House Key Building-
