  • Up the tower in the lions den, the glen, the darra park, the quarry, moorfoot school on top of the roof, the kennedy stairs...all these places bring back so many fun memories for me!!! Wish I was 15 again so I could do it all over again!! Those where the days when no one was missing and our biggest worry was who we could get to go in for a cergo for us at the weekend haha!!
  • The Four Seasons, NEVER gets a mention here in my years of "passing through" This website, God! They have been there for about 12 years!, They have the best selection of fresh fruit and vegetables you could imagine, Steven, Stephen? Who drives for their wholesale side of the business took on the entire shop last year when is parents(just recently found that out duh) had retired after his mum had a heart attack, he bought them out so they could retire, he now has an 18 month old wee boy and his wife has just given birth to twins! Got to take my hat off to them, I hear now that he is currently opening a fishmongers on kempock street yippppee!!! about time!!! God bless you guys I wish you all the very best, They have got to be the best thing in Gourock, Just want to say thankyou, Keep it up!

  • Bright Star Gifts in Kempock Street is really the only shop worth visiting. They have lots of ideas for lovely gifts and are very friendly and helpful. I bought some gorgeous jewellery from there and the other shops just can't match it for quality and price.
  • Wullie's Night Club, where you drank your Merrydown...started by the Gourock Punks & of course Wullie himself!
  • Dear reader, if you are living in Gourock you live in town blessed with scenery. I know the the economic situation isn´t any good. But get up and move you only live once so don´t throw your life away with drugs and alcohol. If your young enough get up and go for it.You´ll find Gourock people are welcolmed the world over.I left Gourock many years ago I now live in Germany but I always think on Gourock(poor Gourock).
  • Bright Star Gifts in Kempock Street. Beautiful wee gift shop full of unusual things. Prices are great and they are very friendly.
  • I LOVE BRIGHT STAR GIFTS KEMPOCK STREET. THEY HAVE LOADS OF COOL HELLO KITTY STUFF AND ANGELS AND FAIRIES EVERYWHERE!
  • The M8. It takes you back to Glasgow.
  • Staggering from the Vic on a Friday night about 8p.m. after a "straight frae work", going to Peking House for a special curry and then eating it up tower hill.

  • On a sunny day, you can't beat the views over the Clyde from Lyle Hill or up the back at the Cafe Continental.

  • THE VIEWS FROM ANYWHERE ALONG THE FRONT ARE UNRIVALLED ANYWHERE ON THE PLANET. GREAT GOLF COURSE AND THANK THE LORD FOR "THE VIC'."

  • Stunning Views across the Clyde whilst enjoying a Pint at the Spinnaker. The Vic' for large measures. The old Bay Hotel for a night oot. Angus road is not too faraway for an alternative medicine remedy.

  • Walks along the Ashton waterfront. Sailing on the Jeannie Deans and the car ferries. Hiking up Trumpet Hill. most of all just sitting at Tower Hill and a taking in all the view up and down the river. I truly miss it!!
  • IT IS SO EASY TO GET A SNOG IN THE PLACE...just dont' expect it to last...and be prepared for the rude awakening the next morning... scenery scenery scenery... DRINKING IS WHAT IT'S AT IN GOUROCK...

  • The many, many places we underagers have to hide. Whether its the Battery Park or the Darroch we will find a place and Gourocks bursting with them. Moorfoot Primary is the coolest thing in Gourock its got the Biggie, The Indian Village, The Girl's Back and not forgetting for those of us who can get up there THE ROOF! Oh yeah
  • The Harte Buses they get us to Greenock for our nights in Velvet. All the drivers are cool Hey Shuggs, Robin and the rest you run the best buses in Gourock Wahey
  • The best fish & chips in the entire Inverclyde area, THE WEE CHIPPY, just the thought of Donald's fish & chips make me long for home. Keep up the good work Donald. I shall return!
  • The open air swimming pool The yellow kettle is gone (Yeeaaah)
  • Gianni and his ever so charming staff Gourock offers the best of both worlds. It's as lovely as Largs but then again it's not overwhelmed by herds of old foggies.

  • Best thing about Gourock is the lovely views across the Clyde, spectacular scenery, and beautiful Cardwell Bay.
