Corner eateries, quick bites and the local chippy

You can tell us more about Gourock.

Cheap Food
  • gianni's pizzeria in gourock is the best place to enjoy a traditional fish and chips or have a lovely fresh baked pizza, recomended by locals, gustoso
  • The Spar is good for snacks but I wouldn't go to the other one (The Today Store or whatever) They seem to have a chain smoking ned doorman who is permanantly outside with a fag in his hand. Very offputting.
  • PHILS BAKERY FLOGIN THERE HAF EETIN CAKES CAUSE MARK HASNT BEEN ABLE TAE RESIST
  • Ian Dallas's house.
  • Veg pakora from 3 in 1
  • All day Breakfast is to "die for" in the Spinnaker Hotel
  • The Gourock Butcher(Terry I think?)has the best slice, square sausage for non-gourockians in the world.Especially the onion stuff,go on treat yourself!!!!
  • still stop off at the 3 in 1 when i'm home to have a cheese and coleslaw baked potato!
  • Taj Mahal. Or Taj Mahel as it says on the waiters' uniforms.
  • Papillon Restaurant, very good quality. Even better is that it is above the Victoria Bar.
  • The Scullery is now called Papillion and is absolutly crackin', well worth a visit.
  • Has to be Gianies chip shop (spelt perhaps differently but I notta speeka Italian). Taj Mahal also very good
  • Gianni's is amazin, kebab shop is awrite, the chinkies are pish. Some reckon the Cathay Princess is good but I got a flea in ma tea once.
  • 3in1, fantastic!
  • Cafe has just poached the chef from Lindores Manor House - best grub in the area without a doubt.
  • 3 in 1 after cleats or the cafe.....FANDABBIEDOZY!!!!!
  • Giannis chip shop, its got an overly friendly owner how put up with me and my irritating mates every lunch time for years, also its greast fun taking the piss oputa the dekivery boy from the 3 in 1
  • mmmm chicken burgers!!
  • Pak Lee has thee funkiest wee woman in the world answerin the fones so call it even if its just to hear her voice & the curried chips rock yum yum!

  • THE GLORIUOS,MARVELLOUS,SPECTACULAR.....3 IN 1...THE DOUBLE CHEESEBURGERS,CHICKEN BURGERS CHIPS AND CHEESE AND THE OVERALL BEST THE BAKED POTATO AND CHEESE&COLESLAW AND GARLIC BREAD!
  • Does anyone remember Greasy Bella's? is it still in existence? When my family fist moved to gourock Mum sent myself and younger brother out to pick up fish and chips for the family. Not knowing the area or the bad reputations that some places had, we stopped at Greasy Bella's. Needless to say we were all sick that night. We never went near the place again. I recall the little lightboard at the Pierhead, my Dad would hold me up to it so that I could see where we were. It always fascinated me as a little child as I couldn't understand how anyone knew where we were at!! I have many happy memories of Gourock in the 1950's and early 60's
  • Bath Street Bistro is actully called the Oui Restaurant ans has its own website to check out
  • The 3-in-1 on Kempock street - Great pizza's, Kebabs, Cheeseburgers. The Taj Mahal - Best Indian take-out joint anywhere. Stevies - Great source of Mars Bars and Irn-Bru.
  • 3 in 1 the best food in the town especially spicy mince and chicken pizza and the double cheeseburgers are heavenly. Mmmmmmmmm.
  • Pak Lee wahay
  • 3 in 1
  • The Spinnnaker in Ashton- Great Pub Grub, A good pint as weel. The Taj Mahal excellent Indian cuisine The Victoria is a classy restaurant. Pak Lee Chinese Take away, good food, good value, and a great owner in Raymond! 1 Kebab Shop same as every other one in the UK, okay after a beer! 3 Fish & Chip shops all good- Average (Wee Chippy is the best) 1 Pizza Shop- Genuine Italian influence The best in town- Very Good Quailty id beside the Royal Bank of Scotland... Cannot remember its name, but need to book as its very small and very popular. Well worth a visit!
  • Gianni's staff are also very friendly, lovable, cute, sensitive and interesting so why not pop in and releave their boredom.
  • Remember Mohammed's Kebab Shop and his lovely sister who put the sauce on. Now a chippy.
  • Is "Greasy Bellas" still in business. Place had a terrible reputation!!! and lousy food. Ate there when we first moved to Gourock and didn't know any better
  • The Cafe Continental does some really nice food during the day...and you get a lovely view right across The River Clyde...beautiful view...a picture postcard nomatter if it's sunny or rainy...the mountains...blah blah...oh aye...FOOD.... The Spinnaker hotel is dead cheap and you get tonnes of food...work your way down the basic but tasty menu...you'll not be disappointed...
  • The Spinnaker Hotel (next to The Firth Hotel) offers good at reasonable prices and is very friendly. It has it's own website.
  • THe PAK LEE rules WAHEY!
  • The 3 in 1 does a mean Byriani cooked right in front of you.
  • The ultimate nutritional venue is without any doubt in my mind Gianni's, the pizzeria in Kempock Street (conveniently located betwee the two best bars in town, Cleat's and The Continental). Taken into account that Gianni himself, a.k.a. the pizza wizzard" is probably the friendliest person in town, this place is a MUST!

  • The Wee Chippy is the first stop when I have been away for a while!
  • Davie Mcfeeters Lasagne (Aldo's Restaraunt)
  • 3 in 1 kebab shop is outstanding but avoid the guy behind the counter who only wants to talk about computers.
  • Cathay Princess Chinese
