The Stuff We Can't Fit In Somewhere Else
- I miss the row of shops at Station Rd. Ferry cafe, Shavana, and Nellies cafe
- Slush Douglas - now there's a name from the past. Used to live in Staffa Street and supported his wife & family by not working. He once agreed to cut his neighbour;'s front grass for sixpence an hour but only used scissors. They later moved to Ailsa Road area but shortly after, his youngest daughter, who was about 5, was run over and killed by the school bus.
- Chris Turner was the "Greatest" guy ever to run around Gourock.
- LETS HERE FROM ANY OLD FRIENDS LIVE ON GOUROCK BOYS
- Chinky Tables
- go to the macgregor for daytime at nighttime if u like good music go to KEMPOCK whit a boozer
- it took me 19 years to translate what that bloke outside global video who sells papers is saying "telegraph and record, record and mail" and a didnt even ask him"
- There is not much else to say about the Wee town of Gourock. It suffers badly from being run against the voters wishes by a Labour council who spend all the money in Greenock and Port Glasgow in spite of these two towns being full of scrounging beggars who never pay a penny in council tax and never do a days work. They are all on invalidity and being supported by the people of Gourock.
- The fact that Gourock has not evolved into a major tourist destination...it should have but just continues to deteriate despite the best ice cream shop and views in the world!
- lucy shags any
- Is the crazy golf still there? There's nothing quite like having a few too many jars at the Spinnaker and then trying to play crazy golf.
- Slush Douglas, Jimmy Nocter, Wee Pim at the Picture House, Greasy Bella's,
P.C. Taffy Herbert, Hoppy Sweeney, Skippy from Australia, summer dances in the swimming pool (water taken out) and the Gourocks first night club opposite the Continental Cafe ran by BIG Alec McConnachy. What was its name.
- this place would actully be reasonly cool if there were something to do, and it weren't full of fannys. other then that, iyts shit
- all the banter ootside the pubs after they shut, and the pure mad mental people!
- i will always arrest ANYONE from gourock if i can, because you made my life hell
so beware, i am out to get you
- the rainbow boys comin doon over the moors. The bullet range, diggin up old bullets
- the electric building corner of iona and bute st
- Really nice place to grow up in and move out of to get a taste of the real life.
- nice place really
- lots of underagers out on saturday nights (so be warned)
- Sport: Gourock Golf Club, Outdoor Swimming pool, Gourock Curling Club.
- Most famous inhabitant: J. Rodger Manson
- Legend has it that The Granny Kempock was a witch who used to lure ships to their death on the rocks using a lantern. Somewhere along the way she was turned into stone. The Granny Kempock Stone can now be found on the hill above Kempock Street
- Original birthplace of "Whiteout". Band featuring former members Sandy Manson (son of the most famous inhabitant!), and the legendary CJ.
- Gourock now has two funeral parlours! One of them is across the road from a very popular restaurant - the parlour's windows are large and open. It fairly puts you off your chicken tikka.
- Battery Park is great place that is very underestimated, be it for sports or just lazying around.
