The Worst Things in Grange-over-Sands, Cumbria*

The entirely missable and worth mentioning because of it

You can tell us more about Grange-over-Sands.

The Worst Things
  • The old people.
  • Mostly damn-near everything. The majority of sensible people get their act together and take the first exit-route out of here. In fact, the spirit of Grange is pretty much summed up by the fact that PEOPLE COME HERE TO DIE. look around you. OAP's everywhere! Therefore, the worst thing here is the fact that there's absolutely nothing to do. zip. zilch. nada. ever. seriously. It rains a LOT too, makes everything even more depressing. Don't know why you'd want to come and visit really, but but there must be something in it because every year we get beseeched by white-legged, bermuda shirt wearing tourists in the seemingly thousands. Answers on a postcard if you know what drags them in. Maybe it's magnets.
  • Postlethwaite's - bought two items from them and neither worked. The shopkeepers argued with me that they did work, implied I was making it up and were generally horrible. I advise going across the road to Lancaster's instead - or if you do go to Postlethwaite's, make very sure you get a receipt (seldom offered)!
  • The worst thing about grange is the old people who live there. They live their lives earn their money, then come and live in grange until they die. A more up tight bunch of killjoys you would be pushed to find! One of them, in the local press recently, suggested that all the children living in grange should be stuffed in a sound proof box so they could get some piece! They all trundle around in their miny metros or equivalant, clogging up the local roads.
