  • On this website it mentions the pub the ellwyn as a place not to go because it is dull, but after vising there recently i would not describe the place as quite, the place was full in the bar aswell as the lounge and after been shown around by the new owner i think that the place should be visited by people who are going to or passing through grangemouth.
  • The Mahratta by far the best pub in town, Oxgang not bad and Lafferties although its not quite the authentic Irish it pretends to be
  • The Coach House next to the Leapark. You half expected to bump into Jack Reagan .Curlers Corner (Galloways)for your first freshed faced pint.A barman with a white jacket(real pub).
  • Erm..the Bowhouse Hotel makes a great local. Friendly staff and customers!
  • A rare pint of beer can be had at the Imperial in the main shopping centre, just down from Tawsneys, then head to Galloways for the afternoon racing and some fine ales at fine prices. Nip in to Friar Tucks for a delicious single fish and settle down for the night in the lovely Zetland Park and watch the Magic Mushrooms grow.
  • The Oxgang House ,home to the town's top boys Bryan McR ,Big Dunc ,Fraz ,Mac ,Phil ,Marti and Binnrad many a good night had here although has went slightly downhill due to the old goat who owns it but still well worth a visit .
  • The Leapark my first soiree into the grown up world of booze, getting into the disco after.
  • go to the ship inn for a proper spit on the floor pub
  • No pub in Grangemouth is worth drinking in. Go to Falkirk instead, it only costs a fiver in the taxi.
  • The 'ganger good for a chat...so long as they haven't a dodgy DJ that night. The Mahratta is full of pirates.
  • Bowhouse Hotel
  • The Tavern now called Laffertys
  • Maharatta for breakfast & a pint(opens six am), Laffertys for lunch (good pool table), dinner in the leapark hotel (exellent food), evening in the dockers club(thursday night bingo and grab a granny) if you can still manage more, its off to the Green Baize for some illegal after hours drinking.
  • The Oxgang House is the place to be seen. Fine selection of wines and ales, entertainment on weekend nights The Avongrange at Charlotte Dundas Court for a different night out.
  • The Ellwyn
