| Lowlife Documentary - Call for Photos & Footage
|
by David Bruggink (Member 10266799) on 26-Oct-2011
|
hello-
my name is David Bruggink. I'm a documentary filmmaker based in the United States and I am trying to make a documentary on Lowlife.
Since I discovered Lowlife, I have listened to very little else. As I got to know their albums better and better it struck me how offensive it is that this exceptional group is not better known and better respected. So, the idea to make a film came into my head - it would be a way to showcase not only the phenomenal music, but also to tell the story of this group, its members, its fans, and its evolution.
The documentary is still nascent at this point, but I hope to shoot it next summer in Grangemouth, as well as interview some other key people across the UK (music journalists; fans; venue owners; other bands...). I want to combine present-day footage and interviews with the band with archival materials...and that's where you come in.
It's a shame that so little of the band was captured on film and tape, but there is some footage and some photos out there. If you have anything like that - even if it's buried in your attic or gathering dust in your garage - it could really help to make this a documentary that honors the group and its music. Or, if you know anyone that has things like photos, videos, even album covers, that you could put me in touch with, that would also be extremely helpful.
Lowlife is an amazing group, and my hope is that this can be an amazing film. If you can help that to happen, it would be much appreciated, and I would be more than happy to make sure you are mentioned in the film's credits and on the film's website.
If you have any questions or want to contact me for any reason, don't hesitate to do so. My email is david.bruggink@gmail.com. You can also check out my website at www.davidbruggink.com.
I'll continue to post on this forum as the film develops. Thanks a lot for your time!
-David Bruggink

Hello, I'm organising a Sacred Heart primary school reunion for our P7 class from the 80s. Can't find Angela Healy, who'll be 40 this year (2011). She used to live in Strowan Road (I think). Does anyone know her or her family? Think that her parents don't live there anymore so not sure how to find Angela.
Thanks,
Claire-Marie Donaldson

I will be traveling to Scotland next week and would like to get in contact with any relatives I still have in Grangemouth or nearby. My dad was born there. His name was Alexander Bow and his parents were Alexander and Devina Kerr Bow. They moved to NZ when dad was a boy. Dad had one brother, Ian. I would love to hear from any relative!
