  • Hi all, try this out for a night in Gravesend!.... the trick is to start in the nicer places of gravesend whilst your still with it and as the night progresses, work your way around! Firstly...The Grapes, Pembroke,The Kent, Riva, Pockock (for a couple of cheeky cheap ones) then to the sommerset and if you are still up for a boogie, go to BAR 24!!!!! x Give it a go and see what you think!
  • dat is 1 fing dat we need mre of coz der aint really much der is der
  • There are a few good bars if you like a young crowd wearing knock off clothes and uneducated
  • Im proud to be from Gravesend but was relieved to leave, people are right it is a dump! and full of pikeys but i had a great time growing up there. For most of the people who started with breaking then proper hip hop then on to mind expanding it went like this WOODVILLES & CENTRAL,GRAVESNED RUGBY CLUB,TROCADERO & GLOBE then RED LION AND SLAMMERS if you weren't there your probably still square and living divorced with two kids in Gravesend, big up the market when old boys used to stand with trays selling jumping beans oh! and respect to Pocahontas.( we used to go down to the prom and throw washed up jelly fish at each other).

  • Whispers first time i walked into the new whispers i thought this looks nice but it proved me wrong by the amount of pond life that goes in there. you have bottles flying around and waiting to get served is a joke, the best bar in gravesend would have to be BAR 24 NO pond life NO trouble service all round great. somerset more like somer sweat closed 4 2 weeks 4 refurb WOW what a great carpet poor atmosphere poor service poor music fact!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • bar 24 gravesends answer to the venue what a place two rooms two djs a fantastic garden and burgers what more do u need on a night out also now open to 1AM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • oh the lion, what beautiful days... and theres always the robert pockock for the more trendy of us going on tochavadeus or wherever like it, cheap and notnecessarily cheerful
  • Bar 24, Whispsers, h2o and Shades are pretty good. But the new yates will be ramajam.
  • the red lion
  • When not old enough for pubs - Springhead Discos for Pints of snakebite & black... then Red Lion, Prince of Wales and of course the old Cellar Bar....
  • Emma Brown Gravesend - I went to whispers in Gravesend for the first time over the weekend and wow! what a place! Friendly staff and doormen who actually know hot to form sentences!. It looks amazing inside with plasma t.v's and gadgets everywhere! We got there about 9:30 on Saturday night and unlike most clubs or bars, whispers can open all its doors. Which is good in the summer and on Saturday it was boiling! We sat out the front ordered our cocktails and watched as guys walking past and going in drooled all over us in our summer outfits! The Music was excellent I love my R&B but I do like a bit of vocal house as well and the dj played it all and a bit of girly U.k garage which was a pleasant surprise. I have to say that the customers were also a lot more desirable than some of the Riff Raff other places let in with some well dressed fit guys. It's nice to see a place in gravesend that doesn't let people in with trainers. It keeps the rudeboys and girls out as you know that Rudeboys and rudeboys only have trainers in their wardrobes! I might be sticking my neck out here but It's easily the most lush place to go in Gravesend. If it was large nightclub size it would be the lushest place in Kent. You can tell whoever owns it or built it had money because they didn't hold back with this place. Being from Gravesend I'm so glad that there is finally somewhere nice to go in my town. Before I had to go to Strawberry Moons to get a decent bar. H20 has always been too musty downstairs and smalls of wee in some corners and their policy of letting anything in means you get all sorts of pondlife down there. Bar 24 and night shades are too dingy so when I'm out with my girls in gravesend next, Whispers will be my choice!.
  • Continuing my diary after My excellent night at Whispers on Saturday, I went to Amadeus Rochester on Sunday. I havent been to Amadeus for a while but After a hot day at the beach me and my girls and a few of our male lap dogs thought sod it lets go to Amadeus. It is still a huge cattle shed so how about a doing it up a bit inside! Its big enough to have two rooms! We did have a good night though and considering this place is in the middle of no where, still gets busy. Two major faults to comment on though. First one its looking a bit old in there and needs an interior designer or something and second, at twenty years old I wouldn't call myself ancient but when I see so many sixteen your old people all over the place including my younger sisters lot, It does spoil my clubbing experience! Love Samxxxxxxxxx
  • Amadeus is heavy saturday and theme nights on tuesdays.pub to club from prince of wales gravesend..h20 n whispers aint bad but amadeus is heavy..if u a perve go -18s amadeus.
  • Whispers - The new place in town. Formerly Shades and Vickis. Nothing like that anymore. Friendly staff and doormen. Special drinks offers and fab R and B music. No entry fee so you can leave when you like. Best evening had for ages.
  • the conclub in perrystreet if nothings happening you can just go in and see the jono coleman lookalike he is so so funny and dos'nt mind you laughing at him
  • THE BEST TAXI Co in Gravesend has to be PHOEINX 01474355555
  • the con club in perrystreet used to be filled with nearly deads but now some top people there and some hansome 30somethings
  • Night Shades rules!!!!Get your nuts in there with out a doubt!! Churchills changed to teasers...which was burnt down and has now been transformed to H2O!!!! But stick with night shades if you want a sleazy bloke to kiss your neck and leave sick in your hair!!!
  • Bar 24 highly recommended, H2O (Churchills) has been done up, not bad. Night Shades - YUK, we won't even mention The Grove.
  • Leos
  • THE SLAMMER WAS THE BEST THING THAT SPRANG FROM GRAVESEND, EDDIE GORDON & PETE TONG AMONGST OTHERS CREATED A REGULAR EVENT THAT PULLED PEOPLE IN FROM MILES, THIER TASTE IN MUSIC (AT THE TIME) WAS RAW AND FUNKY. THE SLAMMER AS A TRADE NAME WAS MOVED FROM THE RED LION TO THE "SOUL BOWL/STRINNGERS/CHURCHILLS" VENUE IN THE HIGHSTREET, IT REMAINED A GREAT PLACE TO GO WITH A ONCE MONTH VISIT FROM TIM WESTWOOD AND VARIOUS GUESTS BUT NOTHING LASTS FOREVER, RAVE MUSIC CAME ALONG AND SLOWLY ATE AWAY THE SLAMMERS GREAT REPUTATION. THE SLAMMER IS NO MORE BUT ALL THOSE THAT USED TO DRINK IN THE GLOBE ETC WILL SURELY REMEMBER THE ALL THE GOOD TIMES. R.I.P THE SLAMMER
  • Red lion
  • WOODVILLES UNDER 18! (JOKIN'!)
  • ama, casino rooms,
  • I love amadeus I know loads of people turn their nose up when you mention but its got really good music if you like r&b, hip hop a bit of old cheese and the drinks aren't too badly priced the only problem is to get a taxi there is costs a bomb if anyone knows a good taxi firm thats cheap please tell me!
  • AMADAUS
  • Leo's next to the Red Lion is turning more into a disco than ever.
  • the boat pub has some chavs but mainly has wannabes
  • new inn boy f*cking banging in there
  • amadeus
  • Woodvilles has a party thing but its not very good.
  • Even though u can almost feel the sweat and dirt drippin from the walls I still hav great (and a bit blurry-vodka!) memories of THE CHURCHILLS MASSIVE! days. it was the no 1 spot 4 us young-un's who cudnt quite get in niteshades!!!! amadeus was taken ova and we all found the drinks were a lot cheaper there! went there few weeks ago and it was DEAD!!!!
  • leos is small but perfectly formed with lots of UV glowing starts and shuff on da ceiling
  • yeah check out Jumpin Jacks in a thursday night up maidstone area, £8 2get in den its free drinks all night, they get sum good local dj's in and sumtimes bigga names
  • Erm ... Shades is ok. Better when it was Vickies. Shades 2 is crap! Painters Ash pub is ok. Churchills what a load of crap. Better off getting out of gravesend and going to amadeus... nightbus service is quite good. Too many pikies everywhere tho!
  • The best days of you life was going down the bufs head and the kings head in your younger days. I wouldnt no though cos I was the only one who never got in. I can just about get in churchills now though
  • There are no decent clubs in Gravesend try Jumpin Jacks in Maidstone or Amadaous in Strood or the M20
  • Nightshades is the best club around..good atmosphere, friendly people, free food !!!!!!!
  • Of course Leo's (The Red Lion) http://www.pigfish.net.leos
  • i go to the millers cottage its wellnice an i like the prince of orange on a saturday night -good music
  • theres the converted living room the grove or churchills in the high street with oversized apes on hand should you require a frisk or fight
  • Has to be Night Pit
  • Amedeus is alrite, n zens is wikkid, they let under 18s in if u look old enough
  • Comming from Gravesend myself, I have to totaly agree about the comments that were made, Gravesend is crap. Its full of Pikies and Reenies and people who want to prove themselves. I can remember better days , Slammers or even the Red Lion, on occasions when people forgot their CS gas, Gravesend amounts to a barrel of Monkey Spunk and I would not recommend it to anyone. These are thoughts if you don't like them "Fuck Off" Jertsy !!!!!!!!!!!
  • I always like to go on a bit of a club crawl. Everyone goes to churchills but NIght Shades is good especaily on a Saturday with DJ EQ (Scott) They have wicked lighting (I used to be the lighing Jock) but the sound system is Very S**t. Try finishing your night at grove always playing somthing diffrent DJ Godboy (Peter) on Firdays & a school night with (Tony Masion) on Saturdays. Unlike its reputation there are never any fights whitch there are at Churchills & they have wicked Bar Staff & Door man Best in Gravesend.
  • Nightshades down bottom of Queen St is pretty good, and this is from someone who hates clubbing (cos i think it's crap!)
  • Con Club in Perry strret where the cool people meet.Rad x crowd.Bikers Skaters BMXers all wanna be seen there!
  • Churchills- bit crappy, but alright if nothing else to do. Stay away from the Grove. Shit aint the word.
  • Less said the better - Churchill's, The Grove (or is that Grave?)
  • If only we still had the slammer. I had some of the best nights of my life in there (many years ago). It was great…. It’s now revamped and called Churchill’s and instead of the cool friendly crowed who used to frequent, one can now find a glass smashed in ones face very easily. Shame that happy vibe that once filled the place is now filled with aggressive slag scum who just want to kick your head in. “Who would you rather meet, a crowd of drugged up smiling people, or 200 pissed up violent locals who are so unhappy with there lives they want to take it out on the first person they meet”. Shame, that’s what alcohol does to a person when they hate themselves. “Why not just skin up, chill, pop a pill and relax, meet nice people and be friendly”, (Sorry we can do that they reply we are just to bitter, twisted and jealous).
  • Lion Hospice Bar!
  • ummm LEOS is really kool its open till very very late its fun to get of yr face there
  • The Slammer(at the Red Lion, Crete Hall Road) The Slammer (Churchills Tim Westwood)Stringers, Soul Bowl (whatever!) The Grove!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Ha ha ha who every said that the station in gravesend is good? Its total pants full of pratts and the wankers that stand over near the seats they stand there like they are the maffia!!!! complete twats if u ask me!!! Few word about the station!!! UNDER AGE BROTHAL Full of i wanna be a pikey girls!!!! and well as for the djs one of them i'm surprized he can fit in the dj box where he's so fat and the other looks about 13 and i'm shocked he can even reach the turn tables!!!!
  • Amadeus is da best!! Or u've got Zens or Deja Vu in Dartford.
  • Steve Maxtead's at the Woodville halls,Wings at Northfleet,or have they closed now?
  • NONE,ZIP,NADA,NOUGHT,NOTHING,NIL,There's always McDonald's on a Friday night{sad or what}
  • Amadeus in Medway valley rocks
  • Comment below made by someone who deserves only pity. You talk about the lack of respect that Gravesend girls feel for themselves but have you ever stopped to wonder where you're respect for women went? You have absolutely none and that's why you've made a comment which is unfounded and offensive. You're a sad, pathetic being and I, as a Gravesend bird, don't appreciate being judged by the likes of you. In fact I wonder if you are one of those plastic pikies you mention cos you also have a severe attitude problem.
  • There are no decent pubs in Gravesend! They are all crap and I am allowed to say that because I live there. Someone said that all the 'BIRDS' are pigs...that's cause the nice, decent, pretty, respectable women with more respect for themselves wouldn't be seen dead in any Gravsend pub. The girls that go there are slappers and the guys are all plastic pikes with attitude problems. I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole.
  • The SLAMMER circ 85-86
  • Shades 2 the new club in Gravesend.
  • Amadeus rocks, the Grove is cool, there are plenty of boozers around the place if you wanna go on a pub crawl, but Churhchills is a big risk.
  • aint been to night shades yet but been to churchills and grove often enough but who remembers stringers and of course the slammer, people used to come from miles around for that
  • Shades for an utterly entertaining evening. It's low quality but the bouncers are ok & the crowd is lively.
  • I don't know what idiot thought Churchill's burnt down, because it hasn't. I should know cos I bloody work there! It's not that bad either so stop slagging it off!
  • If anyone thinks that Churchills, Vickies, The Somerset, The Grove or The Station are really places to be seen in, they really need to get out more. PANTS is putting it mildly. Local Gravesham Council take note, Gravesend sucks!
  • Nearby good clubs are Amadeus, Tuesday nights is Shagadelic, Austin Powers up dancing on stage. Only £6 return on bus from Fox & Hounds in Meopham including entrance. Zens is also OK on a friday if you like House & Garage
  • update; the Grove(aka Pipers) is now packed every weekend, there's also a great over 25's bar upstairs,I found the dishy Friday night barman especially interesting! Churchills did not burn down and Shades ( previous reincarnation Vikkis) is overflowing. Deja Vu and Zens c***, Although Library in Zens ok.Conclusion; dont bother with taxis
  • Churchill's (at the bottom of the High Street) perhaps, although it's quite small and I believe it has recently burnt down. Vicki's is half way between a pub and a nightclub and the Somerset Arms gets quite noisy at the weekend. Best bet for the nearest nightclub is to hop into a taxi and go to Zen's in Dartford or Deja Vu in Swanley (From experience, Deja Vu is better).
  • Churchills and the Grove are both totally pants, try Amadeus in Rochester.
